If you just want Sky sports for tennis you really only need a 6 months a year subscription.

They have lots of coverage from early March to mid May - from Dubai to Rome with only Rotterdam in early Feb before then. Then nothing bar Hamburg from mid May to mid August. You then have Canada and Cinncy for two to three weeks but obviously no US coverage now. And then the final run in from China in mid October to the WTF in mid November although they do cover that Asian exhibition event in December sometimes.

So time it right and you will save money.

BT has no slams coverage although that could change post 2017 if they bid for the rights coming up. Eurosport has 3 of the slams now incl full US coverage plus Davis cup plus the UK grass court season and lots of the minor men's and women's events.

Tennis tv is ok but it's pricey per month - they used to have a much cheap app subscription but dropped it. Of course it's tailored for international audiences and they do cover some of the more osbcure tournaments.

And the challenger events are broadcast for free via livestream - a free way to see middle tier men's tennis every week.
Remember there is a new channel Sky Sports Mix, which has been covering a fair bit of the ATP just lately (although they've had golf on for the last two days, so the channel is a bit hit and miss).

Garbine posted a short video on her app and said that she has had tests and there is no serious injury to her ankle. She just needs to rest for a few days and is on her way to Singapore.

Surprised to see Kuznetsova lost her semi final in Tianjin to Alison Riske.

Bet Kims sitting at home thinking that that trophy is one to be kept out of reach of a toddler. Could do serious damage.

Another title for Andy. He has been in great form since Queens. Hopefully the run will continue and he will get to number 1 soon.

According to someone in twitter:

Andy Murray will become world No 1 on November 7th if:

- Murray wins Shanghai, Vienna & Paris
- Djokovic fails to reach Paris final

If he did, that would be a fantastic birthday present to me!

Well done Andy!

Broady & Watson down a set and a break to the Chans in the HK final.

In Luxembourg qualifying Tara Moore leads 6-4 4-4 against Daniela Hantuchova.

Very happy Andy won and the last few weeks of the tennis year is certainly more interesting (on both ATP and WTA sides).

I don't see Andy winning Paris tbh, so all this No1 talk is on hold until next year for me.

Andy winning Vienna and merely getting to the final of Paris would be enough if Djokovic bombs in Paris. But there is no rush, between now and the end of March, Djokovic is defending a hell of a lot.

Does Murray have to play Vienna or will he incur a penalty if he does? Not too sure of the rules on how many events he needs to play. Wouldn't be surprised if he pulls out to give himself a full 2 weeks off.

Well done to Andy. Isner and Sock beat Kontinen and Peers to claim the doubles title.

Broady and Watson have lost their doubles final in straight sets to the TPE pair. Wozniacki beat Mladenovic in three sets to claim the singles title.

Shuai Peng beat Alison Riske in the Tianjin final. McHale and Peng won the doubles title.

Bertens and Larsson have won the doubles title in Linz.

Chuffed for Peng Shuai winning her first title after all these years and being on the comeback from injury.

He played his mandatory post-US Open 500 event in Beijing, so I don't think he'd get a zero pointer. However, he will only be gaining points by playing, so if he's fit and fresh, he may as well play.

Got to agree though, I can't see Andy winning Paris, especially if he does play in Vienna, but he seems to be in much better form than any of the other top players, so he might as well take advantage. Novak losing before the final there wouldn't be a surprise either, but people are starting to talk as if it's routine and Andy just has to stay focused and it will fall into place.

Players like Federer and Djokovic have had years where they've won tournament after tournament, but I think they've been the exception, even amongst top players. Murray's always flagged a bit by the end of the year, and just because that's finally starting to catch up with Djokovic, doesn't mean Murray won't blink.

As I said earlier I do think he is a man on a mission and when he gets the bit between his teeth he can be very stubborn. I think the strain of winning week after week has finally got to Novak.

Serena is apparently in Disneyland right now... so probably won't be showing up in Singapore. Really happy Cibulkova qualified, I've a weird feeling she could so something spectacular next week. She's got decent records against Kerber, Radwanska, Halep and Pliskova, whilst I don't expect much from Keys or Muguruza, who she's bizarrely 0-6 against. She'll be totally up for it too, what with it being her first time making the cut. Or she could do as well as Genie did on her debut, what do I know

You're missing out if you're not following Serena on snapchat. She's in Disney heaven right now, hanging out with all the princesses. Meanwhile Aga is in Singapore already.

I'm not surprised, she is having the best injury layoff ever. I don't think she has even practised, so if she did play she would be seriously under cooked. Granted she could get away with that, but at this point in her career she doesn't need to bother.

So this is Kerber guaranteed Year end Number 1?
