So the ATP Protected Ranking regs DO apply to the Slams but the ATP Wildcard regs DON'T?

Not very consistent, is it?

Svitolina (who's wearing the exact same outfit as Konjuh) is on a mission today, it seems. Currently 5-0.

Sveta is on a mission here. Looks like it'll be up to Sweetolina in the semis...hopefully it'll be a three setter.

Kasatkina's loss was disappointing. She fought back well after her customary slow start but failed to nab the first set, and Goerges raced to the finish line.

Grunt twins - Babos/Azarenka. Pavs/Ivanovic. It's uncanny

If Domi manages to stay in one piece...takes pressure off him before his home event.

Fingers crossed that Thiem and Goffin make it over Berdych and Cilic, WTF has needed new blood for ages.

I'm glad Rafa received all my emails, there is no point continuing this year. He wouldn't get anywhere and he needs to get fit.

He's been having a good time with Federer at his academy.
Rogers tweet was lovely.

Well yes there is that too.

Rafa's statement

It is no secret that I arrived to the Olympic Games short of preparation and not fully recovered, but the goal was to compete and win a medal for Spain. This forced recovery has caused me pain since then and now I am forced to stop and start preparing the 2017 season. I am very saddened for not being able to play next week in Basel since I have a great memory of the tournament and the final played against Roger Federer last year. I won’t be able to compete either in Paris-Bercy, where the crowds and the FFT staff have always treated me so well. Now it is time to rest and start preparing intensively the 2017 season.
Basically he played the Olympics when he shouldn't have. And continued to play after..... I despair sometimes.

Sadly so. Ah well hopefully the beer-guzzling Petra will send her back to church.

Wasn't that sweet of them both. I have a growing soft spot fro Rafa recently, this was really lovely for them.

You know in the future, these two will be the new Mac and Borg at Wimbledon, talking about all their classics. It's nice that Roger went there for Rafa's big day. Bless them.

I thought this photo would be sweet for Rafa fans, it looks like his nan giving him a kiss.
Also, I always like Rafa's mum and sister and how they always seem so lovely to Roger, (in the background) there was a video at the WTF of them waiting outside his locker room to kiss him well done after their final.

Is it true that if Svetlana Kuznetsova wins the Kremlin Cup then she will get the last qualifying place for the end of season tournament in Singapore and Johanna Konta will miss out

I don't mind Konta at all, I'd just prefer Sveta there

I love how the WTA is announcing the Singapore draw right now and that Konta is actually at the ceremony and dips in and out of some of the group photos even though Kuzzy is still in contention.

Red Group:

Kerber
Halep
Keys
Cibulkova

White Group:

Radwanska
Pliskova
Muguruza
Konta/Kuznetsova

Fantastic group for Aga, essentially The Walking Dead and her Karobot punching bag.

There may be another last minute withdrawal so Jo is still in with a chance even if Sveta wins this tournament.
