I love how the WTA is announcing the Singapore draw right now and that Konta is actually at the ceremony and dips in and out of some of the group photos even though Kuzzy is still in contention.

Red Group:

Kerber
Halep
Keys
Cibulkova

White Group:

Radwanska
Pliskova
Muguruza
Konta/Kuznetsova

Fantastic group for Aga, essentially The Walking Dead and her Karobot punching bag.
Potentially (if Konta does qualify) FOUR Singapore debuts out of that final eight.

Do you have some inside news then?
Simona, Madison and Garbine are not 100% fit. Didn't Garbi sprain her ankle last week? She may not have fully recovered.

Garbine's been out on the Singapore court practicing as have others, so I can't see there being any late withdrawals now before the tournament. Not now they've all attended the opening ceremony. The alternates will have to rely on in-play withdrawals to get a match.

You said that about Serena last week when I said I could see her withdrawing. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jo playing and someone withdrawing at the last minute or, like you said an in play withdrawal.

Guy McCrea in the commentary box today in Moscow. I'm sure I heard him commentating at Luxembourg earlier in the week for Eurosport. Or maybe not?

That was Serena's fault for saying one thing and then deciding that Disneyland and tacos were more important.

There may be another last minute withdrawal so Jo is still in with a chance even if Sveta wins this tournament.
Does Jo Konta actually want to compete in Singapore? I haven't heard her say anything about this. Does anybody know?

So Jo Konta has won the WTA 2016 Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Totally deserved, if you ask me.

Bit of a nightmare for Svitolina so far. Loses the first set 6-1.

Into a third set we go. Kuznetsova was looking knackered in that breaker.

When Sveta was returning to the court after her bathroom break could Svita have gone off for a bathroom break of her own? Does anybody know?

Yes she could have time to knit a Svita Sveta.

She had a bathroom break at the end of the first set. Not sure if she's allowed a second or not.

I can't see Gavrilova or Goerges troubling Kuznetsova.

You never know. If Sveta looks knackered now she will be even more so come the final.

Oops I didn't know about the bathroom break at the end of the first set. Probably not allowed another one.

Sveta's going to make the WTA and that draw ceremony look silly isn't she?
