I was hoping to go to the tour finals in London again this year, firstly to see Roger as I've never seen him, then to see Rafa while I still had chance. So that's me not going anymore then, although I'm not surprised Rafa's withdrawn. It's worked out well in a way though, as I didn't really have enough holiday from work and I can do something different that's come up on the Sunday. Let's hope Rafa and Roger are both back fighting fit next year!

I've been going the past few years to see Roger but won't be going this year sadly.

But I've booked Dreamgirls tickets instead as a treat!

I echo your hopes they are both fully fit next January.

Not if Gavrilova wins.

Well Gavrilova, you dress like Konta, now please, I'm begging you, do it for Konta (and add a singles title to your career record too).

Obviously... but it would so typical of the 2016 tennis crazy. Plus Sveta is 2-0 against Dasha.

Well if anything, it wasn't a completely wasted journey for Jo, as at least she was there to be able to pick up her award for Most Improved Player.

Yep, and there's always a chance of an injury. it's still an incredible year for her, whatever happens. I mean if you'd suggested it this time last year, you'd rightfully have been called mad.

Obviously with achievements you need to back them up. it'll start getting interesting for her when she has to defend the Oz open points. yet obviously she'll have a much higher seeding and hopefully better draws.

Her season had ended by this time last year so any points in these 2 comps she can pick up, will just improve her placing, and she did nothing in the two warm-ups for the Oz last time, so who knows where she could be seeded.

It's almost an all Russian final tomorrow. But not quite, since Gavrilova decided to become an Aussie.

Is there a reason why the Singapore finals have to be scheduled the day after the Moscow final? Kuznetsova is gonna be well jet lagged.

I think it's daft that the last spot is still tbd. The WTA should have a word with themselves and sort it out. From the pics, obvs Jo is there but she isn't really part of it because they don't know if she qualifies or not. And obvs Sveta isn't there either, so she misses out on all the pre-tourny stuff too (and is at a disadvantage due to being in a different continent!)

They need to look at altering the end of season schedule, give the last gasp qualifiers a chance to rest and everyone to get in town early to promote the event properly. You can't put banners and posters, etc in the city like this up in the week before.

At least it's not as farcical as last year, with the Lux final on the Sunday and then the WTA not announcing until October that the ranking points wouldn't count towards the race, even though players were still chasing qualification.

I think the WTF are a rip-off in terms of price but if Rafa was playing, I probably would have gone even though he is generally useless at that event. The last time I went, I saw Fed which, even though I am not a fan was more than worth the entrance fee. You really can't complain if Fed is on the bill and winning no matter who you support. (I saw Rafa as well but he lost).

I think that the past couple of years have made me realise just how invested I am in Rafa and that his playing days are numbered. I don't want to jinx myself but have already booked Rome for next year and am going to book Barcelona. For various reasons, I doubt that I will make both but just one would be incredible.

I also hope to get to Queens because it is always such a strong field. But like I said, I hope that I haven't just jinxed myself.

Please send me good vibes y"all.....

All the good vibes in the world Jewels for you to see Rafa and hopefully in full flight too.

As you've booked aside a few dates, lets hope there's at least one that works out, but hopefully all of them!

I agree the fees are quite high. I paid a bit last year, but I reason it that I have no vice like drinking or smoking. But on the day of Rafa's match last year I saw on viagogo front row seats for £30, which is an absolute bargain if you could get there within that time.

But just keep a positive mind about it, don't hope to go, just believe you will be going, without a doubt.
Rome and Braca should be lovely, I've always loved the Rome tournament, it's beautiful.

Random observation of the day: all the players in the white group, their surname ends in an 'A'.

I totally echo everything Amelia said, Jewels. Fingers crossed you get to see the lovely Rafa.

Kuznetsova is boarding that plane to Singapore

The devil in me can't help but cackle at this mess. Some very talented people are already photoshopping all the selfies and group photos of the ceremony. Fair play to Sveta, the burden was all on her and she delivered. Konta could still get a match as alternate, but this might work to her advantage since Zhuhai is a much quicker court than the Singapore treacle.

At least 11 hours direct - it's also 6 hours ahead. So even if you left immediately after the final you could not get there until tomorrow morning Singapore time.

However I did a quick check and the quickest flight leaves Moscow at 7.20pm this evening on Aeroflot and involves a stop over in Bangkok and won't get you to Singapore until 2.30pm tomorrow. So Kuznetsova is going to be exhausted and jet lagged. Maybe a private jet is more likely,

You do wonder why there isn't a proper gap - as the men have - or all the final weeks events aren't in Asia rather than Europe? Surely the women could shorten their ridiculously long two month break - the men only get 5 weeks - to make it fairer.

Wonder if Jo will get a match this week as someone is bound to drop out or get injured? Will she be playing the event next week in China instead?

Shame. That overnight flight via Bangkok sounded quite an adventure!

Kyle's doing brilliant in Antwerp. One set up and broke Gasquet at the beginning of the 2nd. His first 250 semi final and if he wins, it'll be the 5th win over a top 20 player this year.

Kyle now a break down in the final set and looking very tired. It's been a great few weeks for him, but I hope he has a week or two off now.
