They're not quite done yet. 4 WTA 125 events this month.

I thought you'd appreciate that one Lisa .

Yeah I never took that particular comment seriously. She keeps to herself but not to the extreme of Maria.

Amazing achievement for Andy, and the Murray family, he's one in singles, Jamie has been in doubles and both slam winners, DC winners and Andy two time gold medallist too, they've all come a long way and it's really nice for Dumblaine to have something so positive to be known for now too.

I always think of Murray as a really good opportunist, so to say if Novak, Rafa and Roger were not at an event, Andy would capitalise and definitely win it. After Novak started his bad second half of the season I thought Andy would make number one by the end of the year if this continued from Novak and here he is as the number one. It would have been good to see the match, I always like those matches when number one is up for grabs on either side, they're one of my favourites to see if they play amazing, have a wobble or something, the same for me as a new slam finalist, to see what they can do with everything on the line.

Going the distance. The DF proving costly. No Berdych-esque choke for Isner in that tiebreak.

Nice one. Have to agree to disagree about the trophy. I think it looks naff. 4th title in a row for Andy. That justifies his number 1 ranking and shuts the naysayers up who say if it wasn't for this or it wasn't for that he wouldn't be number 1.

What a hero. 19 match streak, eighth title of 2016 and World #1.

It looks like something a kid made for show and tell at school.

I was thinking the same about the trophy, at least in that picture. But I think it looks much better on TV in full, it's not as big as I pictured. Modern art innit.

I liked the trophy too. All the names on all the branches when you see the close-up are a nice touch. I wonder if it's a trophy that can be added to every time somebody wins it or if there are a finite amount of branches on it?

Do they have to give them back? I know they do for slams and get given replicas. I assume they just make a new one every year with the updated draw and winner, so each winner has a different trophy.

Sorry, I haven't a clue how they deal with them.

Andy's achievement is fantastic, to have reeled in 8000 points is incredible. He has been helped along the way by Novak's second half decline and the fact that he hasnt had to play Djokovic much this year. Querrey and Del Potro both removed him from Wimbledon and the Olympics and Wimbledon in particular did lead to Novak dropping lots of ranking points. Surely it is worth appreciating just how strong Djokovic was last year to have such lead. A combination of Andy's consistency and Novak's decline. Djokovic will be back though.

Next year is going to be worth looking forward to. Delpo back, hopefully Nadal and Federer start their comebacks, I've no doubt Djokovic will be back and then there's the youngsters who all want a taste of the big 4!

THIS backhand flicked passing shot from Andy was just incredible. Isner just stood there in disbelief. He seems to be growing in confidence more and more which enables him to do shots like this.

For the more knowledgeable people in here, who are the younger players to keep an eye on for next year?

Depends what age range you are classing. Majors will most likely be won by one of Murray, Wawrinka, Djokovic or Del Potro. Not really answering the question i know.
