I was thinking that the Goffin/Djokovic match was more of an exhibition match but if Goffin can pull off a win, that takes the 1500 'undefeated champion' points off the table for Novak. Obviously the same goes for Murray/Wawrinka. So there's still lots to play for, for both.

Of course it gives Goffin a crack at an extra 200 ranking points, would put him a bit nearer the Top 10 with a win.

As for Murray, he still needs to win a set to guarantee qualification . If he loses 2-0 he would go to a set difference of +1 along with Warwinka. Nishikori with ANY win over Cilic would go to at least a set difference of +2 and win the group, and Murray would lose out on H2H record with Warwinka for the runner up spot.

Harry's never-ending luck.

Not only did he get the weaker group, he now has to play Goffin. So lucky here and at the USO. Has been lucky throughout his career

I've always thought he had a huge amount of luck too - even with net cords going for him. Then I remembered Andy got a bit lucky against Nishikori with his net cords, but that's just one match, Novak seems to get the benefit of them all the time.

Or maybe it's just my bias shining hrough

So according to Sue Andy only has to win 1 set tomorrow afternoon against Stan to go through.

Nah - he's been extremely lucky especially when it comes to miraculously recovering from all these injuries he's had recently. Miraculous

He was lucky at the French Open too

Not Novak's day is it? The umpire has no idea about the game apparently lol.

Fergus Murphy likes the sound of his own voice. These warnings just fire players up to play better.

Boris looks grey faced today. Another shade to add to his colour palette.

Wrong Sue. Berdych didn't say he wasn't fit enough to play.

You've got to feel sorry for the people who have paid good money to watch this.

It is basically nothing more than a very gentle training session for Djokovic.

Presuming today's crowd paid the same as yesterday's, it doesnt seem fair does it?

BBC Wimbledon coverage extended to 2024. Roof on number 1 court has been removed in preparation for the sliding roof in 2019.

Why does it take quite so long to put a roof on?

When that massive sinkhole suddenly appeared in Japan recently with no warning, within days it was fully repaired. It just shows what can be done if you put your mind to it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...aired-two-days

It doesn't seem a very long time alright just to put a retracting roof up.

They've been talking about it (and presumably planning for it) for at least 2 years, and it will be another 3 years until it's operating.

Does it really take us 5 years to do something that Japan can do in a couple of weeks?

Be thankful you're not French. They've been planning a roof on Philippe Chatrier Court for over 10 years and still no closer to a completion date.

Ha! I was just about to mention their inactivity. They'll still be talking about it a decade from now. People think the Wimbledon residents are hostile to change.

I really don't understand why they are so opposed to it because there aren't that many residential properties around there. I guess Vive La Resistance lives on in the French blood. They seem resistant to change of any sort.

A sinkhole is a bit different to a roof. I assume there is some sort of logical reason it takes so long to get the roof finished but not being knowledgable about such things, I don't know what the reasons are.
