Fantastic achievement for Andy to end the year at No.1.

Congratulations to him.

A lot of credit must go to Jamie Delgado who has been with him all the way this year. Ivan was the icing on the cake.
Nice interview with Brad Gilbert on US TV. He said he kept his emotions in check because he didn't have the energy and maybe he should do that more often. Brad gave him a big hug at the end saying he was proud to be one of his first coaches.

Floored by Andy and getting to see these two up close. You can see the depth Novak gets on the tellybox but it's unreal in person. The first couple of games felt like Andy was trying to get a lid on him. But once Andy got a few big punches in Novak dimmed.

It's amazing when you can see their power up close. I was astonished how hard Andy hits the ball.

Seemingly effortless power! Off not-great positions

Its so long since I been to a live tennis match, but I remember flinching when sitting behind the receiving player when Courier used to smash it. These guys hit even harder!

One day I will make it to wimbledon

It's scary. He almost knocks his opponents off their feet with his power.

You should apply for tickets now in the ballot. It's definitely worth going. Certainly one for the bucket list.

Bit disappointed appledash is banned, I would love to read what they have to say now - i'm sure it would have been a large slice of humble pie and a heartfelt Congratulations to Andy!

Tennis rackets have improved since the days of Courier. Players of today can get a lot more power because of the better strings and what not. Fitness is also a bigger factor today.

Woop woop, so happy for Andy. Great second half of the great, bar the USO meltdown.

Hope he can finally win AO, it's a bit over due.

Well done too to Novak for the first six months and coming back so well this week.

Roll on 2017!

She wouldn't come back on. She's probably crawled back under her rock.

Think I would need to apply for disability seats now due to rubbish health, do they come out in the ballot tickets too? Any event I want to go to takes so much damn planning now that I cant just walk around easily

Competitive parents across the land will be buying dodgy jumpers for their off-spring, hoping it gives them the edge!

It is unfortunate. More time to watch the news.

Yes you send in your application now for a ballot form and when they send it to you you just specify that you need disabled seating. I think you have to get your application form in by the end of November. So you better be quick.

If you know anyone overseas they can apply online. It's a lot easier.

Fantastic result. I had to have a large G&T to get over the excitement.

What a great year for British tennis. Two British No 1s, Jo Konta in the top ten, Kyle Edmund in the top 50 ... 5 years ago, this would have seemed like some mad dream.

Well done Andy. Stunning achievement, and so well deserved.

I don't know about disabled seating but the standard application process is baffling; it seems to be from the nineteenth century. I used to go in the days when it was possible to rock up after school and still get in (25-30 years ago) and I went on the Middle Sunday this year but the normal application process is far to confusing to even attempt it. I presume it's to keep numbers down.

As has been said - there is a wheelchair ballot. Just send a stamped addressed A5 envelope with your name and address and Mark Wheelchair on it and the outer envelope you send it in by 15 December (ideally earlier as they can be slow) to

AELTC
PO Box 98
London SW19 5AE

Then return the form by 31 December. If you are successful you will hear from early Feb onwards.

The links below explain all.

Yes - it is a performance but that's Wimbledon. Good luck if you apply.

Yes - antiquated is right.

I also go to the French open - it's all done online with a big sale and you also download your tickets. So no reliance on the post office for four different envelopes which could go astray. And if you don't need them or can't go you can resell them on line too up to the day before.

Don't forget Gordon Reid winning Gold in the Men's wheelchair tennis at the Paralympic Games in Rio and finishing world number 1 too.
