Schmiedlova who has literally done nothing all year after that huge breakout in 2015, upsets Vinci to claim her 5th win in the whole of 2016!

The Williams sisters hate it when a player gives them no pace.

How they've ended up at 5-5 I will never know. Especially as Venus was 4-1 up at one point.

Venus looks like she's been struggling. Shame as I wanted her to win but maybe she'll have more energy for the doubles.

Well played Flipkens. Venus blew so many chances.

Can't believe Venus lost that!

Well done to Flipkins though. I like her too.

And this is why we need more courts with streams! JJ having an epic meltdown in the doubles. Hev and Jo blitz through JJ & Krunic, 6-2 6-1.

I've since figured out that BBC has online access to CC and Court 1, whilst Court 3 can be viewed via underhand methods.

Bouchard through in straights against Sloane. Not bad considering Genie was up until 2am after the opening ceremony, binging on pizza.
Let's be honest here, Sloane was probably doing exactly the same thing.

Surprised at Radwanska's loss, was really hoping she'd do well here considering she'll likely never win a slam.

Im surprised nobody mentioned the ridiculous decision by Alves to replay that point in the third set after Flipkens stopped play.

I really question how she keeps the job sometimes, she's lucky Venus didn't even bother to contest it.

It was a terrible decision. Venus was belching all the time or looking like she was going to get sick. I don't think she was 100%.

Seems like tennis is starting at 8.15 pm on BBC Olympics 1. This can't be right can it? It means they won't be showing Andy's match on TV or Konta's

There's a stream at the moment for court 1 but it says "competition delayed due to the weather".

The weather. In Rio. Who knew.

just came in to check i was trying to watch his match in the right place because that disconcerted me!!

Side note the arena for that court doesn't appear to be fully built there's scaffolding everywhere and what looks like.bits of wall missing .....

the rowing's been cancelled because it's so windy the boats were sinking in an attempted warm up

It's windy here too - the wind keeps knocking out my internet and TV *touch wood*

Am loving Dreddy's hat!

The weather gods have not been kind to tennis in 2016, have they?

Maybe it's on one of the main BBC channels? I find it hard to believe they won't show a Murray match on the Beeb but possibly they think he gets plenty of coverage all year round and have to give a chance to the smaller sports.

I can't get my head around the fact that it's windy here (London). And I read on the BBC website that it's seriously windy in Scotland. And it's also windy in Rio. I think of the other side of the world as being... well... the other side of the world but it's like we're all joined up. Maybe Rio ordered the wind to make sure their opening ceremony sustainability message gets across.

Dreddy is wearing the same sponsor as Andy. But not the same top and hat.

My aunt lives in Port Huron in America and i am in the north of england (not far from Hadrian's Wall), her weather usually arrives at my house 3-5 days after she has it, especially storms and snow!
It's more reliable than the local forecast.

@Tartan the weather gods really have had it in for tennis this year haven't they? I uspect Thor and his mighty hammer is a squash fan

The wind's horrendous where I am too. Have to keep checking the fence panels as they were ruined last year. Planned on building a close boarded fence this month and then my OH has just been made redundant so that's the fence being fixed a lower priority.

OMG that reminds me, I saw someone on the bus wearing 'under armour' tshirt and thought of Andy!

Gilou and his threat to sue the sky probably didn't help matters!
