Ok so my highlights are:

Correctly predicting Muguruza's win at RG nearly 2 months in advance.
Kerber's 2 slams
Kerber becoming number 1
Murray's 2nd Wimbledon, WTF and year end number 1 (that's a pretty good year)
Aga/Cibulkova's Wimbledon match (my match of the year)
Rafa's doubles gold and the bromance with Marc Lopez, also Rafa carrying the flag
Oh yeah, Andy's gold as well! Seriously good year
Wawrinka's US open
The fact that Aga exists
I'm sure there are more but they are eluding me at the mo.

Lowlights:

Rafa and Rogers absence.
Rafa losing the bronze match to Kei (I still haven't got over it)
Garbine's dreadful season after RG
Maria's.... 'holiday'
Azarenka's pregnancy, well her absence, and I hate children so feel no guilt.
Andy totally collapsing after winning the 1st set of the RG final
Kygrios being Kygrios
The pitiful zika virus excuse
The weather

Highlights

"You hit a ballboy with your racquet!" - mere days into the 2016 season, such innocent times before things were about to get even crazier.
Kerber Kerbering and showing the other girls there is a world out there beyond Serena.
Andy doing similar in wrestling back Novak's stranglehold on the no.1 ranking, plus becoming double Olympic champ, etc.
Azarenka having a peak half season.
Delpo's comeback.
Konta's rise.
Muguruza winning RG.
Errani can't even buy a win on clay.
Czechs winning Fed Cup.
Singapore being all killer and no filler.
Aga-Cibulkova at Wimbledon.
Rafa/Lopez bromance.
Venus still showing the kiddies there's life in the old dog yet.
Wedding Tennis Association.
The "Back In 5 Minutes" going viral.

Lowlights

The general weirdness of the tennis 2016 twilight zone.
Maria's leave of absence...
The bad weather chasing all the tournaments for most of the year.
Kyrgios tanking.
The lame Olympics excuses and taking away the ranking points.
The Singapore run in/Konta attending the draw ceremony.
Rafa and Roger being M.I.A for most of the year.
Aga is still slamless.
Serena shutting down her season after USO again and skipping Singapore for Disney World.
Muguruza's post-RG slump.
The still ongoing British media obsession with Marcus Willis for that one match with Roger, when he's done bugger all.
Team Santina split. </3
Bencic' ongoing injury woes.
Missing about 75% of the AO whilst on holiday.

Was that the lass who was going to go to college but then turned pro?
Yeah her family had put out the challenge to her to see how it goes and then they'd make a decision on college or tennis.

Highlights

Andy! Specifically from R3 at the FO, right up until the WTF (minus the defeat to Kei but you can't have it all) So pleased about him winning Wimbledon, a record 3rd Queen's title and the Gold at Rio, as well becoming World Number 1
The rise of Kyle
Stan Slam no.3
Garbine at the French
Heather Watson winning the mixed doubles
Laura going on that little winning run in the States
Jo Konta
Del Potro being fit and winning
Kerber becoming number
Lendl
Jamie & Bruno
Andy as flag bearer, Rafa and his crazy happy smile as flag bearer

Lowlights

Maria and the general doping whispers
Laura and Heather's year in general
Nick being Nick
The lack of Rafa
Lack of Rio ranking points
Some very dud matches throughout the year
Andy's first two matches at FO

.....I'm sure there's more but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Anne K is chosen to replace Judy as Fed Cup captain.

FFT is in a mess again. Caroline Garcia has announced she's ditching Fed Cup duties for 2017, wants to put her own career first.

Konta and Raonic have surprisingly split from their coaches Esteban Carril and Carlos Moya.

Weird. All the players on the rise dumping their coaches. Keys has split with Hogstedt as well.

Not really surprised with Keys as she seems quite hard work but I am very surprised with Jo as her coach has worked so hard with her to get her into the top 10 and silence her demons.

Is Nigel Sears still coaching Ana? That is one partnership I expect to end, not for any fall out but they haven't achieved much, unless Nigel was her wedding planner.

She's a part-time player, full-time WAG, she just wants someone British based it seems, if Basti gets transferred expect it to end.

Surprised Jo has split from her coach. They seemed to be working so well together. I hope she doesn't regret it.

Yes, that's the one I find odd.

Keys and Hog was never foing to work, wrong mental fit.

The Raobot one I think is encouraging actually. Milos will be 26 this month, there's no point him just wanting progress he needs to be winning Slams, there's no reason why not, only murray is strong amongst the big names. murray at about the same time *with a better career behind him) made significant changes to take him up a level, so why not go for it?

Two tough losses against Murray in Slams last year is excusable, but losing to ramos-vanilla and Ryan Harrison isn't.

Ah yeah of course, knowing precisely nothing about football (he is a football player isn't he?) I never thought of that.

He is. I can't tell for certain obviously, but Ana has tried hard for almost a decade to get back to her number 1 and slam-winning form, with many coaches and many restarts and false dawns. I think going back to Sears kind of shows she's half-given up, think she's only playing (and TBH she's not doing much of that) because of her obligation to sponsors.

63rd in the World, didn't win more than two matches in a Tournament all year, hasn't won a match since June. It's over.

This makes more sense when you read the BBC article

Well, maybe, anyway.

Her mental coach died suddenly a few weeks ago.
