Unless you're desperate/in need of off-season practice, nobody is going to play an exho that can't guarantee payment. Shame for the people that bought tickets, expecting to see them.
It's also not going to help them (the organisers) if they stick with it.

No surprise really and he hit a ball towards him at the O2.

Most unsurprising news of the end of season coach merry go round.
So does the guru take his place?

It's quite a tiring event as well with constant time zone changes but surely it's a chance to expand the game in Asia and the top players really don't need the cash.

It should be laughed at, bizarre that it started in the first place

Surelyit would depend on the Raonic Inc board of directors?

Interesting interview with Boris on Sky. Novak wanted to spend time with his family and wasn't practicing hard enough seems to be the gist of it.

I believe the CEO has the final say.

Fair enough. It's not as if he has anything to prove. When he was putting everything in he achieved everything he wanted, far surpassing Boris' achievements. It's done tennis a favour as well by opening tournaments up to others (just - he is still a a clear no 2 of course).

Boris had made no secret of the fact that he only wants to coach the person who wants to be the best.

On an unrelated note, why hasn't Djokovic recoreded his name for here - http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/playe.../d643/overview all the other top players have. Nadal's is unpronouncable.

Boris took him as far as he could go, almost as far as anyone could go.

Tough act to follow.

Yeah I've been expecting this, I don't know about their personal relationship, but if I was Boris, I would not be happy to have tennis balls hit at me. I know we make fun of Boris, but someone of his standing deserves more public respect from his player. If Andy did that to Ivan, he would just quietly get up and leave.

Anyone else find their tennis twitter feeds has basically tuned to a Donald Trump feed since the election? Lots of people I enjoy following are seriously starting to annoy me.

Guess it's hard to move on if you feel an authoritarian bully whose party dislikes Gays/women/Immigrants is coming into power, particularly if you are in that demographic.

You are free to unfollow, but they're free to post what they like. I've unfollowed one of my sporting heroes because he's a Trumpkin. It's not hard click a button.

I don't want to unfollow though, I just wish people would stick to what they know. I.e; tennis journalists stick to tennis. It's especially annoying when the likes of Courtney Nguyen keep peddling the narrative that Hilary lost because everyone's a massive sexist, which is obviously far from the truth.

I still follow Courtney and don't mind her views tbh. I can see why it might be annoying if you're not interested in a particular tweeters political viewpoints, but I think that's the pro's and cons of social media. Following someone on Twitter/IG/Facebook/whatever means you run the risk of that person talking about all sorts of things.

Clearly Courtney (and others) are really upset/worried about the upcoming Trump presidency, some stuff I read and other stuff I ignore. She has always posted stuff that has nothing to do with tennis, so I take the good with the bad (not that I think her current Trump related posts are bad).

Fair enough I guess, and it is off season I suppose. Let's just hope in the new year it's more tennis and less politics!

Clearly she believes it's not though, and she lives in the country. It played a part IMHO.

She's an hugely qualified female, he's an immensely unqualified male, there are many other factors, but it is just a fact.

I don't follow Courtney BTW, I find her intensely annoying on popular culture amongst other things.

Yes.
I wanted Hilary to win as well, but it does get a bit silly when you get the feeling that everyone who voted for DT are sexist, racist and homophobic (...)

While the election stuff on twitter is getting tiresome it is a big deal and it's a quiet tennis period so I can't blame them - I'm also not on twitter but I do look at their feeds.

Anyway, apparently Haas and Kokkinakis are both using their PR for the Aus Open, as is Robredo.

Last thing I'll say about the repugnant human being that is Trump, but I only came across this today and well.. I laughed

All aboard the 2017 injury train! Anna-Lena Friedsam already out of the Australian Open with a shoulder injury. Defending fourth round points as well.

Kokkinakis is a surprise, I think Hewitt recently said that he would be back for Melbourne, and in fact he didn't know when he would be back? Haas too, I thought he was as good as retired.
