Garbine seems to have an infinite supply of 'get out of jail' cards today.
I so wanted Kasatkina to win in the end, but it wasn't to be. Congrats to Garbine. It's still gonna be a long season for Garbine though, I think.
She better not use them all up - it's only the first week of the new season....

The Hingis/Mirza split seems to have had a knock on effect in the women's doubles. Klepac/Srebotnik, Hlavackova/Hradecka, Atawo /Spears all seem to have different partners too.

Nadal just starting up on Eurosport 2. I guess Hopman and Doha are taking a back seat for Rafa.
I'm hoping more time in Australia before the AO will be helpful. We don't want another R1 loss. Although getting Verdasco in R1 was terrible luck. Not sure if he has played Hopman before.

Isn't he a massive homophobe? I remember him tweeting something about how gays "aren't normal" or something. He should hook up with Margaret Court
Saying that it's still quite odd that nobody on the ATP side has come out yet, but I guess nobody wants to be the first. There's too much money involved.

He's Ukrainian unfortunately, there has been form in that part of Europe. See also: Stako and Tipsy.

Hopefully in the next few years, we will see some change in the ATP about this.

Wow all the fangirls screaming for Rafa is like Beatlemania.
You just mentioned two of my great loves in one post! I am a fangirl of both.

I don't think I've ever seen women screaming for a player like that before. Well maybe for Borg back in the day.

Good win for Garbine, that was the type of match she was chucking in the bin last season when things were getting tough.

I predict Rafa will come out once he's retired

Oh I didn't know that about him, I like the way he plays but I won't be joining his fan club anytime soon.

Hang on, you'd still support him over Rafa? I know you don't like him but I didn't know how much

He has a very dedicated beard in that case. He's been with her for 11 years, she would have to seeing someone else on the side.

Sloppy game from Jo to lose that set. His concentration is appalling at times.

There's a real bromance going on between those two. I keep expecting a Humphrey Bogart lookalike to appear when I see that falcon trophy. What's the significance of the falcon?

Set your recorder. Hope SurMuzzas back is ok for this match. He was experiencing some tightness yesterday.

The WTA still haven't sorted out whatever they're doing with that proposed streaming service they talked up. If they can do it for as cheap as the Eurosport Player currently is then they can take my money now!

Already have Eurosport with Sky otherwise that's a cracking deal, especially now Discovery seems to be shelling out the $$$ for more content - shame they couldn't have used that to reclaim the WTA from BT instead of swiping the Olympics from the beeb.
