This has been on my mind for a while now...why are the WTA/ATP cut offs for qualification into slams different? Are they different at all?

USO ATP cut off is ranking no. 98 (+ PR)
USO WTA cut off is ranking no. 103 (+ PR/SR)

Delpo not in USO, hopefully he gets a wildcard into it (assuming he wants to play it and not do more wrist recovery time) as a former winner.

ALSO: this was an actual question to Genie in a presser about Vika. WTF. Worst question of the year?
The ATP has a slightly larger qualifying format in slams. 16 qualifiers in the men's draw compared to 12 for the women.

As for the journo question, speechless is not the word, especially that part about finding someone to get pregnant with.

Here's the video of it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IklsLFpopQk

5.40 is when she's asked about it and the same clown asks her about the Taylor/Kim beef.

Thank you. That makes sense. I couldn't work it out. Will go and watch the video now...

I mean, it's just incredible. As if a man would be asked that question. As if whoever Vika is with is anyone's business. FFS.

Though that was the only question Genie seemed interested in answering.

OK, the question isnt actually THAT bad as it first seemed.

He asks were you surprised she was pregnant, and like did you know she had a bf?

It's not that bad is it. Completely ireelevant though.

You have to wonder why he assumed she would even care. I think I know the answer though.

Because his questions were irrelevant and unprofessional.

Statement on the sacking.

I can't think who you mean.....

Side note, is that text awkward sounding to anybody else? 'born in Spain, admired in the World' like in the worlds molten core?

What is on the plate? It looks gross.

No wonder I think it looks gross. The only cold meat I can stand is chicken, i'm fussy like that. Ham is the absolute worst.

Maybe you can have the olives instead?

Jo Konta breezes through to the quarters in Stanford, 6-3, 6-1.

To be fair, as Jaccobabe says, the question wasn't as bad as originally stated, the latter half of the question was asking if she knew that Vika had a boyfriend. I agree that it was unprofessional and irrelevant, but not really on much worse of a par than the usual dud questions that players can get asked. Tumaini Carayol completely misquoted him on Twitter, so I'm not surprised he got into that argument with him. So all in all, he posed dumb questions, but I don't think he deserved to lose his job over it.
