I remember Charlton fans moaning about Curbishley cos they were only around 8th position in Prem and it wasn't good enough. Some wanted Curbs out------they got it and look at them now. No sympathy with the fans that didn't like Curbs.
I can recall Stoke fans wanting Tony Pulis out in similar circumstances ? He finally left and Mark Hughes came in and took them to their highest position in the Premier League and gone from strength to strength but nobody talks about this! |

Moose is hardly going to be non-bias when talking about Chelsea v West Ham is he!
Even though I actually agree Costa was lucky to stay on the pitch... |

'Good Old Corky' alongside the UK's leading and best radio presenter this morning informing Al he's "working" hard every day this week. I think what he meant was he'll be turning up at various events the rest of the week doing corporate stuff or sat down somewhere doing a cricket commentary.
It kinda puts it it perspective what an easy life I had working 12 hour days and nights for 40 years in a steel mill. Great show by the way boys wish you did two shows a day, three on Sundays seven days a week.

Big Al might miss the Arc this year as it clashes with the Ryde Cup and he's hoping to go there instead.
That doughball Cork talking about horse racing at York said that the Nunthorpe was a good race for two year old yearlings! |

Big Al full of beans this morning and livelier than he's been for a long time. The audience figures are good and old Fisher was praising all and sundry at the station so presumably the giant Glaswegian is in line for a new long contract.
The ex Leeds manager Steve Evans? was on and after he'd finished spouting the usual cliches he praised Big Al for "record listening figures". Obviously he's hoping the brown tongue treatment for Al will get him mentioned on the program for every vacancy that comes up ( The Brazil Agency for Out Of Work Managers that BigAl Likes preferably Scottish). Talking of brown tongues old Corky was on with his hero and was in full "nodding dog" mode "YES AL, NO AL,............" |

Is it just me or has Murray been in quite good form since his announcement re leaving? He seems quite chipper and the show moves along better.
He's also had a couple of pops at 'Britain's Greatest Olympian', which was good to hear. |

I only caught it in passing whilst hoovering, but did Murray just say that Elvis was not a 'covers' artist'?
He is the ultimate covers artist - he never wrote a damn thing. |

Why there's no mention of Around The Grounds show on TalkSPORT 2 tonight? Not everybody wants to listen to Man City's CL qualifier!
I do think that TalkSPORT 2 is like a little scally dog gnawing away at it's owner's leg while taking kicks! If TalkSPORT doesn't want to promote the sister station, they shouldn't put it on air in the first place! |

The term cover re records does not mean recording the work of someone else that has written it. It means issuing your version of a song that someone else has previously already recorded and issued.
Elvis was the King to us old timers and had a great influence on groups such as the Beatles etc. |

I didn't say Elvis had never "covered" a previously recorded song. I was pointing out the usual meaning of the word cover in the music business.

I'm sorry, I just find him annoying, I have to switch off or over. I find his buffoonery act irritating. Still each to their own, I known I'm in a minority.
The only presenters who came close to annoying me as much were the Rodney Marsh / Paul Breen Turner show when they did drive time before Adrian Durham took over. Actually I like Durham which puts me in an even smaller minority lol I find them excruciating, just don't find them remotely funny or interesting |

I'm glad you mentioned how talkSPORT 2 are doing an Around the Grounds show tonight though as I think them doing this is a step in the right direction and I dare say one or two people reading this would be willing to listen to such a show. Over the past however many years I've noticed that their updates from the Football League get somewhat neglected when they are broadcasting Champions League commentaries, so to have an alternative for people who are more interested in domestic league football on those nights is a good move and provides listeners with an outlet that isn't available elsewhere on national radio (Radio 5 Live tend to cover the Champions League as well, while Radio 5 Live Sports Extra will often simulcast a BBC Local Radio commentary on a Championship game, which while welcome isn't comparable to a full national service). |

Getting up half an hour before you went to bed, eating a lump of freezing cold poison and paying mill owner for permission to work there? Luxury!

Joe Barton on today, and was slagging off the "media darling" wee Pep about his treatment of Joe Hart and team selection last Sat. Brazil ,who is almost a far up Pep as he is with Josey, didn't like it and so switched the subject to Arsenal.
"Nivver mind that wee Joey, waddya think aboot that Venga"# Later he asked Joey, "have ye run inter ma mate Brendan, wee Joey" as if Rangers players would mix with the Celtic manager. |

They play that song based on 'Gold' to advertise the Durham show literally every time they go to a break. I just cannot bear it anymore, changing stations.

I am an old timer myself, but the fact remains he never produced a thing of his own. He just sang other peoples songs - to me that is 'covering' someone elses work.
