I watched it Mou Mou he [Brook] put up a tremendous fight for the first four rounds but in the fifth he started to take a bit of a battering. Dominic Ingle his trainer who has guided his career from being a small child put Kell's well-being before anything else and threw in the towel in the fifth round because Brook was suffering from double vision with a broken eye socket and it was the right decision.
The referee told promoter Eddie Heard straight after the fight was stopped all three judges had Brook in front on points so much was Brook's brave efforts against all the odds in the early rounds but alas you can't artificially pump up fighters to fight in higher divisions against supreme outstanding champions like Gennady Golovkin and expect them to win. Something I, and many others could have told him when they first agreed to fight. |

talkSPORT 2 has launched a new rugby union show though. The Rugby Show was broadcast after their live 3pm commentary on Exeter Chiefs v Saracens from Sandy Park with today's commentary team of Andrew McKenna and James Simpson-Daniel hosting directly after the game had concluded. It looks like 3pm Premiership rugby union commentaries followed by The Rugby Show between 5-6pm will be the order of the day on Sundays on talkSPORT 2 this season. |

Strange thing happened just before the 5am news. The TalkSPORT European football expert (one of many, l might add) was discussing with Russ Hargreaves the Italian football results at the weekend when he was cut off in mid sentence by an advert! When this ended, Hargreaves didn't apologise for the aburpt break but just gave out details of the upcoming breakfast show!
This shows how amateurish a radio station TalkSPORT really is! |

Mind you the European show is good although maybe 3 hours is too long? |

Where is Brazil? I'm sure I heard a trailer yesterday saying he was back today after a 2 week holiday.

I just need to correct myself Mou Mou one judge had Brook in front and the other two had it level I either heard Eddie Hearn wrongly or he said it wrongly at the time.
I did like the idea of Hearn's idea of fighting Khan - as he gleefully said 'boxers who hate in real life always sell more tickets'. |

When Stuart Pearce was a manager, this station & their presenters used to rip him to shreds, like they do most managers unless you are a friend of the station.
Now they hang on his every word & we are suppose to believe that because Stuart says it then it must be right. He was a good player (full of passion & I loved that). As a manager not so good. As a pundit only time will tell. He is now doing a betFred advert about Sturt Pearces betting academy. Why do our heroes & I include Goughy in this have to sink to unneccesary lows. Great win the Glory Hornet Boys. The world is our lobster.🤔🤔😀 |

That's OK Billy.

However should they meet up in the ring if ever they sort of the politics I would have to put my money on Brook winning simply because Khan's history shows he has that dodgy chin which Kell Brook with his heavy bombs punching would surely exploit. |

Does anyone on here ever listen to Matt Forde on this station?, I just ask because month after month [maybe year after year it seems] nothing is ever written about him on these pages it's as if he doesn't exist.
I don't listen of course I'd sooner stick knitting needles in my eye sockets than suffer him and that ridiculous laughing and giggling of his but I bet somewhere someone actually listens. |

Nothing says Jim White better than his comment this morning: " David Gold is a friend of mine"! From David Gold in London to Dave King in South Africa, I bet he's never met a multi-millionaire he didn't like.
![]() Not as much talk about "Rangers"/Sevco yet. Funny that. |

Don't know where he is today, and he's only been away for one week. He returns on Wednesday.
It has the tune "Alan? Where where the hell is Alan?" Instead of 'Alice'. |

Well it would make a break from more Premier league chat...
Mind you the European show is good although maybe 3 hours is too long? But having two three-hour shows is clearly the cheaper option; for a start they no longer need to pay for Brian Moore or any producers/guest bookers unique to his programme. It's not as if they don't have the rugby union audience catered for given this new development on talkSPORT 2; clearly it's much less costly to do a magazine show immediately after a live commentary seeing as it looks like they are going to be covering Premiership games on Sunday afternoons regularly. The commentary team can stick around to host The Rugby Show and it's also playing to an existing audience who have tuned in for the live coverage. Also Andrew McKenna will be contracted to the station, as opposed to Moore who was only involved in one show per week by the end of last season. I think with the launch of talkSPORT 2, talkRADIO and Virgin Radio, a lot of things both on talkSPORT and now six months into the new stations' life have been scaled back and downsized in off-peak timeslots. Think about the end of having live overnight newsreaders, talkRADIO simulcasting talkSPORT overnight, them re-running Two Mikes shows overnight when they are covering for other people, talkSPORT 2 phasing out much of their weekend and overnight continuity and relying on a lot of pre-records in off-peak hours and talkRADIO broadcasting mostly pre-recorded content on weekend afternoons. In this context, the cancellation of Full Contact and also Up The League shouldn't come as a surprise, and probably don't reflect the quality or popularity of those programmes. |

I bet Durham will try to diminish Celtic victory. It will be Celtic beat a team in transformation, so what? or some other sneer.

To be very honest I do like Amir Khan more than I do Kell Brook even though Kell is from around here, some people I know don't like Amir but I just think he's a great guy and very good boxer.
However should they meet up in the ring if ever they sort of the politics I would have to put my money on Brook winning simply because Khan's history shows he has that dodgy chin which Kell Brook with his heavy bombs punching would surely exploit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUW7gWi4vZ0 And I think also people think he is guilty of hubris, saying that he'll fight Mayweather when he's just not in the same league. Personally, I respect anyone who will let someone hit them over the head at any level. I accidentally shut a wardrobe door on my head once, and that was enough for me... |
