I watched it Mou Mou he [Brook] put up a tremendous fight for the first four rounds but in the fifth he started to take a bit of a battering. Dominic Ingle his trainer who has guided his career from being a small child put Kell's well-being before anything else and threw in the towel in the fifth round because Brook was suffering from double vision with a broken eye socket and it was the right decision.

The referee told promoter Eddie Heard straight after the fight was stopped all three judges had Brook in front on points so much was Brook's brave efforts against all the odds in the early rounds but alas you can't artificially pump up fighters to fight in higher divisions against supreme outstanding champions like Gennady Golovkin and expect them to win.
I only saw a few highlights on SSN, but what was that fella with the towel doing at the end? My understanding is you hoy the thing in as quickly as possible, but he seemed to stand waving it in the air for ages without the ref, who must have had severe tunnel vision, seeing it. Brook had even dropped his guard so it could have been worse for him.

I know very little about boxing. But I think Khan will never live this down:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUW7gWi4vZ0

And I think also people think he is guilty of hubris, saying that he'll fight Mayweather when he's just not in the same league.

Personally, I respect anyone who will let someone hit them over the head at any level. I accidentally shut a wardrobe door on my head once, and that was enough for me...
That clip is still painful for me to watch, I've always been a big Khan fan.

I'm positive the referee saw Ingle waving the white towel around like a madman trying to get it stopped but he preferred to keep the fight going for some reason.

Maybe the ref had bet on Brook making it past round five.

Highly likely given his comments afterwards.

There have been some very nasty bouts where the ref let heavy punishment go on far too long, and if this had been one of them he would have had some serious questions to answer why he never saw somebody going berserk with a towel.

Typically Goldstien was widing Cundy up about Chelsea and Gary Cahill's comments regarding the decision yesterday..

Then they started shouting over each other and Cundy walked out !

That meant an advert break and the discussion kept going on afterwards..

Cundy should have just said what was Jose moaning about after the Man U game.

Probably find it's all an act tbh!

Does anyone on here ever listen to Matt Forde on this station?, I just ask because month after month [maybe year after year it seems] nothing is ever written about him on these pages it's as if he doesn't exist.

I don't listen of course I'd sooner stick knitting needles in my eye sockets than suffer him and that ridiculous laughing and giggling of his but I bet somewhere someone actually listens.
I quite like Forde's stand up (and impressions) but I avoid his show with Richardson, is it still going? I can see the two mikes ending up in that Saturday slot as they seem to do every other slot on the station

They always do it because neither think their team does anything wrong.

When Cundy started talking about Rooney and his behaviour Goldstein just tried to shout him down..

And Cundy is very much one of those ex footballers who will defend anything his fellow pros do.

This morning, Parry mentioned something about being around at the weekend and Graham leapt in and shut him up saying 'we can't mention it yet'.

I liked it when Johnny Vaughan was host it was funny back then, after he left it's never been as funny in my view. I'm not sure what you mean about Fordey was he after the gig?.
Forde will be up against Murray on Saturday mornings. I will go back to Fighting Talk as I thought Murray gave the show life - it has been a pale imitation since he left.

Now I know for 100% your coming on here to have a laugh RightHand with comments like "I quite like Forde's stand up and impressions" you little devil you had me going there for a while thinking you were making serious contributions.

Matt Forde is so bad at impressions he has to say who he's about to impersonate before he does them and even then you can't tell who it is. I can do better impressions, most people could if they tried, Fordey should be prosecuted under the trades descriptions act for impersonating an impersonator.

If he ever turns up at my club here in South Yorkshire with that act they'd be a riot, he'd get pelted with bottles, dragged off stage and then lynched from the concert room chandelier before he'd completed even half of his dreadful act.

He's a failed Labour Party back-office researcher, a failed radio broadcaster, a failed TV and radio political annalist, a failed TV newspaper reviewer, a failed comedian and failed voice impressionist what will he try next busking?.

Nevertheless you ARE a fan and I must respect that view so if you ever go to see him live the next time he's in your area please accept this little offering from me to make the evening a little less embarrassing for you when your entering and leaving the venue in public view. [see link below]

Some of the best of the 2 Mikes from the last two years much funnier than the stage act.

EDIT: 10.10
Just replayed it fully, more funny than the stage show but not necessarily that funny it's knocking me over on the floor in a fit of giggles but okay.

Now they've started putting out their daily shows on pre record overnight, I'm wondering whether the other overnight shows are actually all live. The ones done by Ballard and Hargreaves are probably the purest sport show on the station. You get interesting and informed guests interviewed by knowledgeable (or at least well researched) presenters. I don't for a minute expect that an interview that goes out at 2.45am with a rugby league journo is live, but I'd assumed the presenter was there. What's even more curious is that I've sent a couple of tweets to Russell Hargreaves during the show, but he hasn't replied till the next day. Maybe he receives loads and is just being polite and replying when he can, I dunno. Could there be voice tracking on a show like this, with the presenter leaving at 2/3 am ?

Last night was live - they were discussing Sunderland v Everton and giving timechecks.

Haven't seen his impressions for a while. You are right about him naming the person before he does his impression. They are so bad though, if he ever does Elvis he'd best make it clear if it's supposed to be Presley or Costello.

To clear things up, when the Two Mikes are presenting their show as normal, I believe they are always live, it's just when they are away from the overnight slot covering daytime shows on talkSPORT or talkRADIO you are then getting re-runs of those shows between 1-4am, with someone then hosting a live early breakfast up until 6am.

With the weekend editions of Extra Time, I'm pretty sure a fair proportion of those shows are live - certainly from 1-2am and then the final hour from 5-6am where they have contributions from the morning newsreader(s). It seems likely that some of the interviews played out after 2.30am have been recorded earlier and they've always had pre-recorded output between 4-5am - going back to the years of Adrian Goldberg and Duncan Barkes hosting current affairs-based shows overnight. But I believe the presenter and producer remains in the studio throughout, doing live continuity in and out of the breaks separating the quarter-hourly chunks and then presenting that final hour with all the morning newspaper reviews.

I find those reruns of their daytime shows are dull by comparison and lack the edge that make them entertaining.

I agree. There is definitely 'something of the night' about that pair of them which makes this a much better night time programme than a daytime one. I think they will be back on live overnights quite soon.

Yes I noticed that there was a proper handover chat with Cundy and co. I don't know what was going on there as Lone Drinker said they were putting out pre records for some reason even though they were not doing the day time shows.

Seemed a bit odd but it was def live last night.

That was humiliating.
Getting beat by seven should never happen.
Celtic made Barca look like the best eleven players on the planet.
We are going to get coated the next few days.
