To be clear, there's never any mistaking when the Two Mikes are live overnights. They're on for the next couple of weeks but Parry has indicated they'll be back on the daytime rota somewhere or other after that.
There's clearly less commitment to doing live overnight broadcasting and it's this that prompted the question on the weekend shows. I've messaged a couple of 5live presenters whilst on air and had a very quick reply/retweet. I sent a couple to Russ Hargreaves at 2 to 3 am and when he answered it during the next day he commented very favourably. Just surprised me that when he's presumably playing out pre recorded interviews in the middle of the night he didn't respond, which made me wonder if he was actually still there. |

Arsensl get a point (maybe lucky) from their hardest CL game and nothing positive can be said..
Did Cundy care when Chelsea won against Barca and Bayern to win in 2012.. Sometimes you need good fortune |

Great to have the Two Mikes back on overnights but I have to say I thought their recent run on Talkradio between 7-10 was great. As long as they are after 7 I think it's great, their shows during the day are a little tepid and lacking a spark. The reigns are a little looser in the evenings and overnight.
The notable exception is their Sunday show which I love. They are perfect Sunday afternoon listening and as they are on Talk radio they don't often get the chance to chat football. The ideal solution to this is having four shows a week in the evening/overnight slot on Talk radio and then one show on Sunday on Talksport so they can review the footballing week. I personally think they want an evening slot as they like going for a few beers when they finish which they can't do if they are overnights. |

Jeez, does anyone else think Jim White is just terrible on TalkSport - even for TS standards?
I enjoy the station and take a lot of it with a pinch of salt but he just sounds dreadful and very automated. |

Isn't it strange that people like Alan and Rod Stewart never watch Celtic when they have a terrible result? They always say they've seen the game when they get a good one.
It's good to hear Alan back if only for a change from the ever present gabbler Danny Kelly who seems to be on live and repeats every day and night. Cundy contradicts himself constantly, if a team he likes plays poorly but gets a result he says that the result is the only thing that counts, but when Arsenal do it then it's the performance that counts and the result is a disgrace. It's more like a comedy station listening to these clowns. When is the shake up coming re the new staff for most of the programs? |

I will give Brazil some credit as he predicted a tough game for Spurs (a draw though) and Leicester to win their game..
How much of either match he saw is anyone's guess though! |

Weekend extra time is 100% live in terms of presentation. Some of the interviews are live (even with the likes of the RL correspondent at 2:30am, more often than not it is the American phone guests that are Live from 2-5am). Some are pre-recorded... With 4-5am being an hour of just repurposed stuff (which I'm not a fan of, however long they have done it). Extra Time has been poor for some time though, bar Hargreaves when he features.

Does lan Abrahams know that the Paralympics are taking part on the opposite side of the world?
I've not heard him mention anything about the games in his breakfast sport news despite some events taking part in the early hours of the morning! |

They couldn't give a STUFF at that station about anything other than the premier league, calling themselves "talkSPORT" is one big laugh.
You don't get any Paralympics news in the morning but you do in both afternoon and evening as a token gesture! Some listeners go to bed when the main bulk of finals are taking place and to have nothing on these in the morning is a disgrace! |

Caught a conversation this morning in which Brazil spoke about being terrified of being absent as a player in case you didn't get your place back. Not taken that mindset to his latest job has he ?

How much of either match he saw is anyone's guess though! Will Alan even comment on it, or on Kane's lack of goals recently ie 1 tap in from 3 yds in the last 10 games or so, or will it be a stream of excuses. "He's tired, lack of confidence, out of form, it's a bigger ground, etc etc etc " Do you know, I'm beginning to think that talksport and its football presenters are biassed. Surely not from professionals such as Michael Quinn and Daniel Murphy who would never work for an organisation that was hated on Merseyside. |

Both Michael Quinn and Daniel Murphy plus Anthony Evans were/are on this morning. I wonder if their conscience is clear?

Get hold of Paul McKenna is on H&J now and it is comedy gold! The man is in cloud cuckoo land. His ego and self regard are out of this world.

To be fair, Evans is a severe critic of Liverpool and its fans behaviour at Heysel. He is not the most popular man on Merseyside.
