I used to switch in TS specifically at 10 am for the Colin Murray show. I've listened to a bit of the new Jim White show but tbh u just really can't be bothered to turn it on. Nothing personal, it's just a bit bland for me

You see I just don't get the abuse and vitriol he gets on here, am I missing something significant? Yeah he's no Billy Connolly or Eddie Izzard but he's amusing and actually has far better presenter skills than a lot of them.

By the way I caught up with Matt Forde's telly show Unspun over the weekend. It was actually alright, got it on series link now.

He's now a telly star so he won;t be on talksport much longer, you mark my words and remember this post!

It's a valid question and one that deserves to be answered Neddy, it's true I don't really listen to much on this station any more, I used to listen a lot a long way back but it drove me to near despair in the end so I packed up.

However I do like to channel hop around the frequencies and when I hear something that I might find interesting I do listen in for a while. "Interesting" I should point out though does not necessarily mean I find something good and worth listening to, it might be something so bad I feel I need to share it with others on here and elsewhere, or I find something funny and want to share that.

This radio station is so bad most of the time I just don't think they should get away with it without being hit back at. Where I worked for many years we all had to undergo yearly employee capability assessments on our particular skills and it was pretty strict, score a low total and you weren't far from the dole, it's a big pity talkSPORT presenters don't have to go through the same routine every 12 months like we did, but of course they couldn't do that because there would only be Sandy Warr left to cover all the schedule.

Keep it talkSPORT the world's biggest and best national sports radio station. [probably the only one certainly in Britain anyway hence they can make the stupid claim]

I've now heard it and it's exactly what I expected, I just don't see what the excitement is over Jim White, very ordinary with a Scottish accent.

Oh Ned Ned he's T E R R I B L E, a comedian is supposed to be funny man .... he's wretched.

I hide as far away as possible with anything Forde is on as a general rule but on this occasion I am going to try and find his new TV show on Sky Catch-up if it's there and actually watch it for research purposes.

Obviously I know what I will find but I'll give it a go anyway and get back to you RightHand.

As mentioned earlier Matt Forde was on "Pointless Celebs" and all of the so called celebs were impressionists, including two who had been on "Britain's Got Talent".
This made a total of eight impressionists, of which Matt was the worst because it was impossible to tell who he was supposed to be taking off. His usual trick is to tell the audience who he is copying.
Now Matt seems a pleasant young man but I'm afraid he's not a good comic/ impressionist. However if he keeps getting well paid work doing it then good luck to him.
Maybe he's an acquired taste.

You're right Matt Forde comes across as a very decent bloke, I've heard him doing countless phone-in shows for the last few years on talkSPORT and even when up against irate callers who despise him he always behaved back in a respectable manner which is something I doubt Mr Brazil or Mr Quinn could do once provoked.

I have never dislike the bloke on a personal level, I couldn't because I've always figured the reality is he's a good bloke.

The thing is he is NOT funny playing a comedian and there are many that will say that, and his 'impressions' are so lousy they stink.

But, like you say the bloke is now making lots of money somehow and you have to applaud him for that, he'll end up a millionaire like that other talentless individual James Corden because gullible people for some reason like junk.

Yeah, that well-known fair Strawberry Fair, always held in that equally well-known seaside town of Strawberry.

How could you possibly get that wrong? It's not like there are thousands of songs about Scarborough, or for that matter seaside towns in Yorkshire in general.

I must say that he's such a nice guy. Richardson is a bit of a misery and stick-in-the-mud, although nonetheless obviously a good guy, but Forde is such a tolerant and positive person. I'm far more like Richardson than Forde, but I wish it was the other way around.

But unfortunately that doesn't equate to being funny, which he unfortunately is not.

With regard to James Corden, I just find it absolutely incomprehensible that he's managed to get so successful. How an earth has he managed to land a network TV show in the United States? It makes no sense. Usually if you see someone talentless make it big on TV then they're at least sexually attractive, but he can't even claim that. I don't get it, I don't understand how he's managed it. I've never heard anyone say anything positive about him.

Till now. I wouldn't say I particularly like James Corden but I do seem to like most of the stuff he does. Gavin & Stacey, League of their own, the Smithy sketches for sports relief , even the car karioki that he does for his American show.
I don't know if he has any talent, I just know he entertains me.

Unspun is not amazing but it's alright, the house band were good; it probably won;t be your cup of tea Bill because you have a default setting to dislike Forde as broadcaster but keep an open mind.

As for the Batley's Cash & Carry game, yes they only had four players but we lent them three of our Under 9s and they still gave us a tough 90 minutes, only beating them 1-0 with a stoppage time own goal. It's going to be a long season

I've managed to find Matt Forde's Unspun TV show via my computer though my Sky membership RightHand so far I have only watched the first 5 minutes of it because I was starting to feel nauseated by it so I had to shut it off. It also seemed to affect my wife who I asked to sit through it with me because I wanted her opinion as well. The poor dear just seemed confused watching it asking me all time "who is he?" and "where do I laugh?" I explained it's not proper comedy as our generation know it it's just someone from talkSPORT out to make a living.

I'm about to take some pills and lay down for a while then I will try and have another go watching it later.

I watched the highlights of your game on Sunday on the Batley's Cash & Carry website, it was an unfortunate goal to concede as your one-armed goalkeeper did get his hand to it but just couldn't keep it out, had he been 40 years younger I actually think he would have got it.

Jeremy Hélan French born left back/left midfielder/winger he's an exciting player and only 24. How many people would love to be a pro footballer on about 20 grand a week playing in a good team in the championship chasing promotion?, frankly I'm shocked but yes good luck to him if that's what he wants.
