Did Big Al really say he ran a half marathon in 1 hour 32?
I think you'll find it was nine (puff pant) thirty-two.

I heard you got the idea in the first place to run a burger van from an edition of Only Fools and Horses is it true?.

I managed to find a pic of your van outside Celtic Park.

First time listening this morning in ages to something other than H&J or the Two Mikes, and Georgie with Tony Cascarino is much better than her and Quinn!

Really enjoying Georgie and Tony this weekend.
Suppose this is only temporary?
Be great if it became a permanent partnership.
Even though I don't mind too much the prog with Quinn and Georgie.

Quinn now with Alan Brazil on Breakfast Show on Tuesday and Thursday.
Cannot abide Quinn personally, totally lacking in self-awareness and just butts in all the time. Georgie deserves whatever the radio equivalent of an Oscar is for having to put up with him all these years.

Georgie and Cascarino were discussing nicknames. Georgie read out that someone knew a guy called Bruce Wayne and his nickname was "ManBat" and Georgie thought it referred to a personal part of his anatomy and was surprised when it was pointed out that it was a play on "BatMan". Just how dopey is she?
Caz is better than Micky but that not saying much.
The Axeman Cometh and the Talksport wage stealers are quaking.
There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Brazil is so firmly fortified and entrenched in his talkSPORT berth I think even Ruppie would struggle to shift him. I hope he orders a complete clear-out, I'm sure he won't but I can go on hoping.
The station is a terrible listen in my view and I admit I only listen to what I listen to on it to ridicule it.
Thank god for my MP3 player, LBC, BBC Radio 5, talkRADIO and my local station BBC Radio Sheffield.

Did anyone hear Matt Forde ludicrously trying to say that his awful Sat warm up was being hooked for the 2 Mikes because he was too busy to present a 2 hour show 1 day a week (that requires zero homework)?

What a dick

OK that is good, the talksport schedule for next weekend has Georgie and Quinn for next Sat and Sun, so was not sure.
But also, it has Jon Richardson doing the warm up on Sat, when we know its going to be the Two Mikes.

Been a great few weeks for the Two Mikes, not sure how I could cope if they left the air. Just great fun listening.
I loved the way they built up and announced their sat prog with the jury service.

Hmm. So Arsenal turn over Chelsea. Be interesting to see how Talkbollocks reacts to this.

Will it be Wenger is a busted flush again. Odd as I see Arsenal are above Man U, Chelsea and L'pool.

On another matter why do they put callers on air with a crap phone line? Can't the muppets who take the call tell people to come off speaker phone or call them back when the phone line is clearly crap?

The talkSPORT website and the prepared online scheduling is as bad as the station itself so you shouldn't be surprised it's all to cock.

It's a sad fact that the rest of the presenters on this station are so bad that the 2 Mikes who I have a lot of time for are being heralded as the funniest thing since Rik Mayall & Ade Edmondson.
I like them but they are definitely not the comedy revelation they are being labelled to be in my opinion and the way they are doing it will eventually kill them off.

Be because Chelsea were rubbish..pretty much what they said on the Press Pass anyway.

Apparently Chelsea shouldn't be expected to be top 4 contenders!

"Arsenal will only perform once in a while"

They will go on about how Arsenal's Swiss midfielder didn't start again as they did last week after Arsenal had won 4-1 away from home.

I love H&J, I will definitely listen today as it be funny to hear Jacobs give Chelsea a kicking!

But I don't listen to any of the other shows. I tried to listen in the past, but they were just too bad and too irritating. My only window into how bad they are is reading this thread!

However, how have you even got the slightest chance of an objective programme when one of the presenters works for Chelsea's in-house propaganda channel? Cundy is never going to call Chelsea out because he would get sacked.

This is the sort of conflict of interests that would never be allowed by any credible station.

As for the rest of the pundits...how many years has Quinn been stealing a living, banging on year after year after year about how this year is going to be Liverpool's season? Anyone with a grain of intelligence would by now have reflected "wait a minute, I said this last season, I'm not going to let the fact that I support Liverpool influence my opinion this time".

They do have a decent team and a very good manager this year, but they are unlikely to win the league because City are better, have better players, and have the best coach in the world. That's before you look at any other team. Anyone who is remotely objective can see that.

And another thing is that they're blissfully unaware of any football outside of the Premier League, despite the fact that it's really easy to keep up with it nowadays.

I heard a bit of Goldstein on YouTube where they had Noel Gallagher in the studio, and he was going on about Guardiola benching Joe Hart, and it's a big deal because he's a massive player, and isn't it a risk to bring this new guy in.

This 'new guy' just won back-to-back Copa Americas with Chile, beating Argentina and Messi in the final, has over 100 caps for Chile, has been Barcelona's main keeper for two years and has won eight trophies with them, and, hate to break it to you, is a bigger player than Joe Hart.

I don't understand how they get away with putting out such rubbish.

The main thing that gets my goat with this station is the fact that they steadfastly refuse to air Football League content, I could accept below-par presenters if I tried really hard and I might even manage to put up with the inane commercials if they would only include the other 72 EFL clubs and the clubs north of the border for the jocks but they won't the Premier League is their GOD.

On other matters Arnie Palmer sadly passes away a true legend of a player, Way Pawwar tries to say a few kind words in memory of this great, "Very sad Al the king is gone" Alan again shows his compassionate side and says "Whoah! am no havin that, whit? Rory! Rory is the king, The king is de...er...long live king Rory.... tae be honest ah wis sadder when Seve died" [after Wee Rory pockets another $10m] . . didn't hear it myself this is quoted from next door on TF.
Nice one Al that's true respect.

Thing is Billy Brazil's imbibed so much booze over the years his recall probably only goes back a couple of years. Interesting you pick up on Brazil's lack of respect, I've always thought that is his worst trait, if you can't pay any sort of tribute to Arnie Alan then STFU!!

Who can ever say who is or was the best at any kind of sports when we cross the decades, but Arnold Palmer, along with Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus green-lighted the way to how the modern game is today. You would have thought that Alan Brazil could have at least acknowledged that.

RIP Arnie, a great star and a lovely man.

Stan 'the man' Collymore having a bit of a ding dong with his twitter followers, he has tweeted that the new talkSPORT editor Rebekah Wade should be "jailed for 20 years" for making stories up about him in the past, and all former and current Liverpool players who work for talkSPORT now he will "be asking why"

Quite few people on Twitter asking about his hypocrisy in stating that Sky TV is ok but not talkSPORT even though both are owned by the wireless group.

TBF He does criticise individual teams and players including Chelsea quite a bit.

Just thinks footballers in general can do no wrong in terms of their behaviour on and off the pitch...not the only one of course!

I find Goldstein is always trying to pick a fight with him.

Sky
is it's own company, obviously has Murdoch links, but is not in the Wireless group or newscorp. It maybe semantics, but Stan is quite right about Wade/Brooks, she's a disgrace, got a 10 million pay-off from Newscorp, then when she came out of jail got a better job with them.
