I have to come clean and admit I change like the weather when it comes to Mike Porky Parry, I go through periods of disapproval and I go through periods of thinking to myself well at least he sometimes makes me laugh and he's a welcome break from the EPL, right now at his time I'm in the latter period.
I agree with you Ned Parry is no dumpling, holding the jobs down he has surely proves that and all his buffoonery is an act, although I like listening to them on radio I do have issues with MP, I don't hold with many of his political views and I would have to be dragged by a horse by my teeth to watch his live show [cos it's awful from what I have seen on video] but that aside I do find them funny on talkPREM.

Here's Alan on Top of The Pops when he was part of the 1982 Scotland World Cup squad, there are three close-ups and several group shots of him if you look out for them, it looked like he was enjoying himself.

The running down of Hodgson by Jacobs and Goldstein has been going on for months
and apart from sneering at Roy's speech impediment they both add lots of slagging off about many other things about him. So, this is not just a jokey "impression" of him it's
a verbal attack on him.
It's been noticed that since Allardyce's single mention of "Woy" they've both cut it out.
Durham's defence of his two cronies is laughable but what can you expect from a presenter who spouts nonsense just to get a reaction from his audience. There are times when he comes out with such idiotic rubbish that he is almost certifiable (if he is serious)

miss Bingham seems to think all the nation is spending the whole time in front of the TV watching the Ryder Cup, and she said she was exhausted today because of watching yesterday.Pity none of the TS people have ever had a real life job instead of messing about in the studio reading back issues of the Sun.

I have to disagree.I've listened to most of the H&J shows and don't
recognise this 'sneering at Roy's speech impediment' which you state
has been going on for months.
Maybe you can provide links to their shows which support this statement.
I'm always the first to apologise if i am wrong.

I have heard plenty of criticism of Roy Hodgson as the England manager
but this is indeed that.
Having a view that a particular person is not doing a good job is
not the same as ' a verbal attack on him'
Once again if you can provide links to these 'verbal attacks' i would
be interested in listening to them.
I don't listen to Mr Goldstein so my comments don't refer to his shows
We must be careful not to confuse debate and criticism with so called
'verbal attacks'.These are two very different things.

We lost 3-0 at home to Hartlepool, and the forward who scored 37 for us last season and left on a free transfer for Hartlepool in the summer...scored two.

I take back all the nice things I said about Southgate the other day. He's called up Glen Johnson. Unforgiveable.

He said he was in front of his television for 3 days god he must have done some dough in at the weekend, I didn't watch a single stroke of it how did his hero Rory go on do you know?.

From an outsiders point of view I think we've done fabulously to win it the last eight years I don't think we can begrudge the USA having a turn it'll only make us even more determined next time to get in back.

I tried to listen to the show for a while this morning but honestly I can't abide Parlour [sorry Ven] his voice grates on me like Kelly's does, and Brazil just bores me so I only heard the bit about him squatting down in front of his tele and then them blathering on and on about the Premier League so off it went.

If anyone from talkPREM is reading there WAS a full Football League program at the weekend and also in Scotland.

Excellent news!
As for the golf, the standard was incredible. Birdies all over the place and twenty five foot putts going in just about every time.
These guys are playing a totally different game to us mere mortals. Saw Rory take a 7 iron for an uphill shot of over 200 yards and whack it through the green!
Was an enthralling competition as always and the best team won but the young Spanish lad, Wood and Peiters look very promising. End of the road for Lee Westwood though.

The 7o'clock racing guy said to Brazil " It's Windsor today Alan, are you going?".
"Ach no" said Brazil, "I've just had three days golf I need a couple of days to relax.
The man is unbelievable.😄

The golf was great, although I agree with Justin Rose, the course was quite easy for there standards & it turned it into a putting contest.

Fancy staging the Arc de Triomphe the same weekend as the Ryder Cup I blame the french they have no consideration for Alan whatsoever. At least he got to blow his dough watching the golf on TV instead I bet his mobile phone was red hot banging in his bets all weekend long.

I think that Goldstein and jacobs were not simply "impersonating" Roy , they were taking the mick out of a speech impediment (in my opinion) . If you disagree that's your opinion and that's what the forum is for to put forward opinions.
My post was in answer to Durham's attack on Allardyce for using the term "Woy" once whilst defending Jacobs and Goldstein who have been using that derog reference for dozens of time over a period of months. In most companies nowadays continual mimicking of speech impediments would lead to disciplinary action.

Alan seemed cheerful today as he tried to inveigle more freebie trips.Surprising since the horse he tipped for Chantilly didn't win, USA won the Ryder and wee Jose only drew against Stoke.

Lord Redknap of Sandbanks on drive this afternoon.
Don't expect any forensic questioning on the recent story though.

I replied to your comments as you made this definitive statement:

'The running down of Hodgson by Jacobs and Goldstein has been going on for months and apart from sneering at Roy's speech impediment they both add lots of slagging off about many other things about him. So, this is not just a jokey "impression" of him it's a verbal attack on him.'

This is a statement of fact as opposed to a viewpoint, which is why i asked for
links to support those comments.
I would not had done so if you had written 'in my opinion' before going
on to make said comments.
This is because as you rightly point out the forum is here for people
to put forward opinions.
Thank you for taking the time to clarify that you weren't making a factual
statement,but expressing your opinion.

It seems you can get in trouble impersonating anybody these days no matter how light-hearted it was intended. Comedienne Jan Raven is now in bother for mocking shadow health secretary Diane Abbott yesterday morning on the Peston political show.

I watched the show as it went out, it was a very good impression, it was very funny and it was just a bit of fun, it wasn't because Abbott is black and it wasn't because she's a woman, it was simply because she has a distinctive voice that impressionists will love doing it's how they make their living.

Have a look see what you think ...

Not a bad impression, and as you say Billy "just a bit of fun". No doubt having a little fun will soon be punishable by death. See you at the Tower of London then Bill ..

Hey listen YOUR far closer to that place than me I'm 250 miles north in hiding, only take them 5 minutes to drag YOU through the streets of London by a dray horse on your back by the ankles for some 'entertainment' up in the tower.

PS..
No dray horses were harmed by the sending of this message I think I better point out in these times of political correctness and ultra offending times.
