Buongiorno Signor Venetian.

Two booze/betting mates on today in BigAl and the Romford Pele otherwise Ray Parlour.
Now Ray seems an affable geezer with whom you could have an amiable session in some back street boozer but he is not cutting edge football analyst and , of course, BigAl just cruises through the show munching, crunching and lunching whilst he regales the nation with the next fixtures as supplied by that bunch of reprobates behind the glass. A gang laughably called producers.

In other parlance, 4 hours of snooze inducing gabble which makes us wonder why we tuned in.

Picking the Prem winner, Al said it's either ManC or ManU ( fav and second fav)but then Spurs,Chelsea,Liverpool,Everton,Soton but doubts it can be Arsenal. Ray agrees even tho' he's supposed to be an Arsenal man but he knows to disagree with the Fat Guy means losing the sinecure of easy money for a few hours gossiping.

"I want everything, I want to win, I want to play well zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

GSGTFTMCYABL.

The Breakfast show from Goodwood tomorrow & Wednesday. WHY.
It's not as if we can see the wonderful countryside or watch the horses doing their early morning exercise. It's not as if there is any actual racing between 6am -10am.
They don't seem to realise it's radio, not TV.
Is it just to keep Brazil happy?.
Will the new company treat him in the same manner to which he has become accustomed ?. I wouldn't bet on it.
What I would bet on is Brazil saying STUNNING at least ten times tomorrow.
What Brazil wants Brazil gets at this radio station the management hold him in nearly the same massively high regard as the people held Emperor Hirohito of Japan.

A GOD.

Why this is I guess nobody knows, the breakfast slot could be filled 500 times over with better presenters but they seem to think without Brazil the station will plummet the ratings, the advertisers will all run away and talkSPORT will have to close down.

Why can't Brazza have been one of those that lambasted Rupert in the past.

So Wilkins got away with his drunk driving case. I still think he was pissed that night he had a go at Collymore.

Yes a 10-week suspended prison sentence, 140 hours’ unpaid work and banned from driving for 48 months. It's a very light sentence considering he has 2 previous convictions for the same offence all within the last 3 years but this is what celebrity gets you in this modern age.

I'm sure that now Ray Wilkins has been convicted of drink-driving, publicly stated that he's an alcoholic, and agreed to enter the Priory, that TS will no longer be constantly emphasising how cool it is to be a p*sshead.

BigAl is a medical phenomenon Sleeper he's sank enough booze to float a ##cking armada of battleships and how he's still alive and kicking the good lord only knows he must always be written about on these hallowed pages. The world's best scientists and medical researchers will be fighting amongst themselves to extract his organs for after-death testing when he's gone, the lucky one that discovers how he managed to live so long considering his lifestyle will write a world-wide printed medical journal and make millions from the sales.

I wonder the same thing. I'd much sooner listen to someone else, yes we disagree on the choice (I'd sooner have Kelly) but I keep trying to revisit the show and like it but find myself turning over to ts2, talk radio or 5L within about 5 mins. I don't complain as I know I'm in a minority and the vast maj of listeners love him.

I console myself in the fact that the majority of the world thought Columbus was bonkers for claiming the world was round ......

They'll be recording 'Wilkins the red nosed reindeer' as we speak.

But do the vast majority love him Nedski I have serious doubts that is completely true. How many people are just fleeting listeners who tune in, hear 2 minutes and switch off because they can't stand it but are counted by that untrustworthy rajar system as a listener?. How many are like you, me, practically everyone on talkFORUM and on here only listen to mock it and hear the Brazil gaffs because it's inadvertently funny?.

Then there's the dedicated twitter and facebook accounts and there's some choice comments on there.

He runs the only dedicated sports show in the UK he has no competitor to take his listeners yet out of a population 65 million in a football daft country he has a couple of million probably fleeting listeners I don't think that's much to brag about really.

I've made a rare visit to the breakfast show and listened to a few minutes this morning for a random sample and it's Brazil & Cork. IT'S HORRENDOUS but I can see why people listen, it's Alan Partridge and Dave Clifton at their very worst and one might call it compulsive comedy if you like that kind of thing.

Seriously, what is the benefit of having the breakfast show live at Goodwood? Is anyone THAT interested in it. I can understand more listeners tuning in when they are at Cheltenham etc. but is Goodwood that big? I've never met anyone who's been there.

Very good question Jim, the answer my friend is blowing in the wind ..

I've been to Goodwood, my birthday co-incides with the July meeting, it's a real treat.

Bully Boy Brazil giving poor old Rupert the usual disrespect with Yes Man and lickspittle Dim Dom Cork agreeing with every sneer and jeer. How does Cork look at himself in the mirror? How can a man who's played for his country show so little backbone just to keep a few hours work a week kow towing to the gruesome Glaswegian.

Brazil still bragging about his booze exploits and plans to carry on regardless even tho' his oppo Ray Wilko Wilkins has just been done for 3rd offence of DUI as the Americans call it. How did he escape jail time?? Did he have that famous brief who represented people like Fergie for his driving offence (not drinking though)??

Manchester United 1 - 4 Borussia Dortmund
Tottenham Hotspur 1 - 2 Juventus
Manchester City 0 - 1 Bayern Munich
Arsenal 1 - 1 Lens
Chelsea 0 - 2 Rapid Vienna

Can't wait for the 'best league in the world' to get started again.

Joking aside, it's only pre-season, it doesn't mean anything, but all of the hyperbole and hype just grates with me.
