I don't know on what planet a combination of Alan Brazil and Mick Quinn is acceptable radio. Unprofessional and boorish oafs. And that's their good points - C
They should make it a comedy TV show and have Brazil and Quinn living in a travel tavern half a mile from a petrol station.I see Alan's made a remarkable recovery from yesterday, when I get flu it lasts at least a full week sometimes even 2 weeks, next time I get it I'll try BigAl's remedy, ... go straight out and get pi$$ed. |

But surely it's the best early morning sports show anywhere on the world's biggest radio station.

Had to agree with Micky this morning. Bevington was spouting how well Southgate was doing and should be given the job. Mick asked how he was doing well and Bevvo said how good his press confs were. Mick said he wasn't worried about the press conf he was worried about what happens on the field and so far it's been crap, which I agree with him 100%.
Of course Bevvo is an ex FA admin wallah who's more concerned with PR than results. Alan is supporting Strachan to keep his job and is praying for the Scots to do well at Wembley to which Micky is saying they've no chance. Well done Mick in not being a Brazil Yes Man as most of others at TS. Alan keeps mentioning the game in 1996 when England beat Scotland in the Euro , he keeps saying that the Scots were better until that Gazza goal. Oh dear Alan, it was 20 yrs ago and you were well beaten HAHAHAHA |

He was just the PR guy I think rather than the FA chairman/CEO who make the final decisions on management.
Of course he isn't going to slate somebody who is probably a "friend" though or rock the boat with the FA when he I suspect still gets a few perks from them. We must remember the people in the FA are potentially just very bright businessmen who have probably come in as football fans from another role in life - isn't Martin Glen a former CEO of a biscuit firm and then there has been Greg Dyke/Brian Barwick - both came from TV land. So they really don't have any experience of football and the way it works in reality. Big Sam was mainly sacked because he created a PR nightmare from a business point of view and there were potential conflicts of interest when it came to punishing other managers. In reality we'd like to see ex footballers come in and run the game as happens elsewhere but they all earn so much that its not worth the hassle of the everyday work that would be needed... They just find it easier to sit in the studios and playing golf.. Same reason as to why there is a lack of top quality English coaches... |

England are lucky they're in the European section and always get seeded. I was looking up the South American qualifying last night because I heard that Argentina had lost at home. They're currently in a play-off place, and Chile who won the last two Copa Americas, who have Sanchez who is arguably the best player in the Premier League and Vidal who is one of the best players in the world, are currently sixth and will miss out on the World Cup as it stands. If England were up against Brazil, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Bolivia they simply wouldn't qualify. That's five of the top six teams in the FIFA rankings in one qualifying campaign (the other being Belgium). Uruguay are also ranked in the top 10, and Peru and Ecuador are both ranked in the top 25. In England's group, Slovakia are the highest ranked at 28th and Scotland are ranked 44th. None of the rest are in the top 50, and yet Slovenia still looked better than England. |

Good luck to Jessica Ennes Hill on her retirement
She has done the country proud and is a great role model for youngsters. |

She didn't because they under massive pressure never had him back, but some time later United never forgot what she'd threatened and took it down themselves and re-named the stand with someone else's name. No class you see!. [and I don't mean Jess] |

Respect your views naturally but I judge people who run things on their final product, .... the final product in this case is awful and consistently has been for years.
As for Jess Ennis - a rare bright light in a sport that has been tarnished over the years for various reasons. Certainly a true sporting icon of modern times in an era when there aren't so many. Always happy and professional no matter the situation. As for the Jess Ennis stand - seems like she has been taken over by a local estate agent. https://www.theguardian.com/football...d-estate-agent Money talks but I doubt she really cares (I looked it up earlier and it seems her hubby is the real Blade) She probably just tags along... |

A fellow Yorkie Bangy from Sheffield, regrettably she joined the dark side by having her name plastered all over Sheffield United's main grandstand can you remember when she threatened to have it removed when the Blades were thinking about having Ched Evans back as a player after he'd served his prison sentence for rape?.
She didn't because they under massive pressure never had him back, but some time later United never forgot what she'd threatened and took it down themselves and re-named the stand with someone else's name. No class you see!. [and I don't mean Jess] Going on what you have said that is shabby behaviour and does the club no credit. |

Remember her stance about that Bill, but was unaware that the club subsequently removed her name.

Surely that would be the best thing to do - I know its all about getting money for these clubs but even Man U have been able to see past the dosh and respect their legends. Think the match fixing scandal was during the 60s - you see football wasn't all perfect then! |

Bit of confliction on Talksport from Saggers tonight...
Fine for Steve Bruce to get another job (and I think he might do well actually) but its the old boys network in action when McLaren gets a job.. Guess its all down to reputation and the latters isn't very high. |

Missed that one! - seems rather strange to do that when they've honoured Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton.
Is rather disrespectful! |

I wasn't really disagreeing - just saying he was the PR man although no doubt probably had some say in what went on and is probably another yes man - even now when out of the FA.
