Thats pretty low to make up a story about someone who can't defend themselves, its one thing to "spice a story" up a little but this goes way beyond this he should be ashamed.

It felt a little distasteful at the time, although it wasn't necessarily recounted in a disrespectful manner.

Then I read the Daniel Taylor piece and I was horrified. TS were made aware by the Guardian that the story was disputed and chose not to comment, let alone apologise. It's appalling behaviour by Saunders and the station.

Even more than that, they promoted it on their Facebook page, website and YouTube:

Alan had a dilemna today. It was reported that wee Josey had told Roo that if he wanted regular football he should leave Man Utd. Now Alan loves both Josey and also Wayne. Alan has said that Roo should be in the 1st team but doesn't want to say that Josey is wrong to leave him out.
Alan's addled brain is trying to work out how to blame it on Van Gaal . " that Van gaal ruined wee Wayne".
Personally I think the winners of the Premier League will come from one of the teams in the top six at the moment.

Rooney will do a Roy Keane and finish his playing days with Celtic.
Wayne has been to a lot more Celtic game than big Al.

He was scheduled to do it and it would have been great but for whatever reason it hasn't happened yet. I've tweeted Iain Lee to tell him if he goes whatever he does don't attempt forcibly entering the locked off room immediately at the top of the stairs apparently it's Nigel's private room that only he enters and lord knows what he'd find in there.

Not sure it would be right for IL to do a show from Nigel's lair.
Goes against my leftie luvvie do gooding way of thinking to use a guy like Nigel for the entertainment of others.
I know nobody forces Nigel to call up and carry on as he does but it's just not funny now.
And I'm still feart!

Honestly Bangla when you've listened to enough Nigel calls down through the years you learn Nigel is up for it don't worry about that old mate. Nigel has one agenda whenever he phones into a radio station and that is to promote himself and sing his songs and nothing else much matters.
A few weeks back Iain Lee was suffering a real personal crisis regarding his mother, so much so he had turned up for work still upset and talked about it on air, Nigel breezes on very shortly after only to show a total lack of respect or compassion pestering to sing another bloody song.
When Iain asked him if he'd not heard what he'd just been saying a few minutes earlier Nige' replied with "Oh I heard you talking about old people".

Nigel's dream is fame and fortune, ... neither I wouldn't fancy will ever happen.

In the meantime if your ever in the area of Maidstone Bangla I definitely recommend you don't go visiting his house.

Who's weirder the Ozil lovers or the nutter on the radio who wrote a whole song bashing him to a Phil Collins backing track. Get a life Adrian. May be the worst radio I've ever heard. Jesus.

I think Full Contact with Brian Moore came to a conclusion at the end of the last domestic rugby union season in May and the station has taken the decision not to bring it back this term. As a consequence, I don't think Moore has any links with talkSPORT any longer.

The programme that you heard in the old Full Contact timeslot is Trans Europe Express with Danny Kelly, which was initially a weekly programme looking ahead to Euro 2016 in what was the My Sporting Life slot on Sunday nights in the months leading up to the competition, which then became the regular weekend post-match programme during the tournament itself. This season on Sunday nights, Full Contact has been replaced by an extra hour of The Press Pass (now going out between 6-9pm) and an extra hour of Trans Europe Express (9pm-midnight).

However, talkSPORT 2 have launched a new rugby union magazine programme this season - it goes out on Sunday evenings between 5-6pm, and is repeated on Monday nights and I think a few times during the overnight hours later in the week. There's also a podcast on talkSPORT.com. The show typically follows directly on from talkSPORT 2's live Sunday afternoon Aviva Premiership commentaries (the day of their game of the week has been switched from Fridays to Sundays this season), with it being hosted from the ground by their rugby union commentator Andrew McKenna and whoever his co-commentator is. At one hour, it's shorter than Full Contact and has clearly been streamlined in a cost effective way to follow on from a commentary and to hopefully retain some of the audience that had tuned in for that. I should mention that they still do a studio-based Rugby Show on Sundays when there's no Premiership fixtures/commentaries, this Sunday just gone for example the show was hosted by Russell Hargreaves as Macca was covering a European Rugby Champions Cup game for BT Sport.

I think the folk who run talkSPORT have come to the conclusion that these sort of non-football magazine programmes are better fits for talkSPORT 2, where they can schedule them relatively consistently without football coverage interfering as often as it does on talkSPORT.
The Difference

Speaking of talkSPORT 2 magazine shows, I've really enjoyed the first couple of editions of their Sky Bet EFL Review show with Ian Abrahams and the Walsall left-back Scott Laird. I know other, bigger clubs get a ton of media coverage, but how many fans can say they get to hear one of their players co-hosting a weekly radio show?

At least I'm hoping it's going to be a weekly thing, last week Moose said he'd get Lairdy back on in a few weeks, but it only took seven days to have him back and now at the top of the show Scott was asking Ian to make it a weekly thing! Don't get me wrong, I miss Up The League on Saturday mornings (incidentally it's good to hear Geoff Peters hosting talkSPORT's Early Breakfast show on weekday mornings after The Two Mikes, glad to see he hasn't lost out too much from UTL finishing), but this show is a good programme reflecting on the weekend's EFL action with plenty of interviews and, all club bias aside, a thoughtful, articulate analyst should Scott become a regular. With their being no talkSPORT 2 Listen Again, hopefully they will be providing a weekly podcast of it on talkSPORT.com.

On that subject, if anyone from talkSPORT 2 is reading this, could you:

1) Sort this week's EFL Review podcast out - only the first 17 minutes have been uploaded to talkSPORT.com.
2) Get Scott Laird on the show every week.
3) Persuade Scott to make his loan move to Walsall a permanent one in January.

Thanks in advance for sorting all three of those things out!

Jamie Vardy was named on the Ballon d' Or list yesterday.

Four years ago, he was doing this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58dUfymtVRk

Scoring the winner for Fleetwood Town versus Grimsby Town in the fifth tier of the Football League.

I can't think of any other player who has achieved anything like this, certainly not in English football.

I guess you had the likes of Kevin Keegan who went from lower league football to European footballer of the year but that was in the 70s and over a longer period!

He played for our rivals Scunthorpe, but even that was in the Football League. Four years ago, this guy was 25 years-old, had never played league football, had been released by Sheffield Wednesday (sorry Billy!) and he's gone from that to being shortlisted for world player of the year. It's only six years ago that Vardy was playing for Stocksbridge Park Steels, and he didn't even reach the Conference until the 2011-12 season.

If you'd have said when he was 24 and playing for Halifax Town in the Conference North, "within five years you're going to play and score for England, break Ruud van Nistelrooy's Premier League scoring record, win the Premier League title, and be shortlisted for world player of the year" it would have been an utterly ridiculous prediction.

Heard the looney toons recording of Adrian's rap about Mesut Ozil on Alan's show as part of Alan's"Numbty of the day/week" segment of which Adey was a prime candidate.
It would seem that Adrian has a psycho dislike of anything to do with AFC and probably needs treatment for it.
For the record Mesut Ozil has over 80 caps for Germany and is a regular pick by Low the German manager. Mesut also is a World Cup winner and I well remember him in the German team that humiliated us in a previous WC. He is a good player and for Adrian to deride him is just a ridiculous part of his attempts to be a "shock jock".
For Adrian to make fun of the many people he slags off is a bit rich when he is part of one of the most ridiculously stupid broadcasting duos on radio ie Adrian+Darren Gough, who are hardly contenders for brains of the year.

Oh we have a great history in recognising real talent at Wednesday, before Vardy we had Eric Cantona at the club and wanting a permanent contract with us.

Our brightly brained manager at the time Trevor Francis decided not to sign him up before he'd seen him play on grass [Cantona had turned out in a friendly for us I think but for whatever reason Francis had missed the game and had only seen him in the gym training] Mr Cantona quite rightly as a french international of some repute took the nark about this and summarily buggered off in his car 40 miles up the M1 to Leeds United FC and the rest as they say is history.

Eric Cantona in his Sheffield Wednesday kit.

A psychiatrist would have a field day with Adrian Durham, the man has certainly got a jealousy problem with those that are more successful than him or are idolised by many.
How pathetic is that Ozil song?, The man is getting desperate. On top of that Goffy, his little fat cricketing friend was in the background giggling. He must need that job badly.
I've long thought Durham can't have many friends by the way he puts on that false laugh whenever Goffy tells a not very funny joke & then says your the funniest guy I've ever met.
They both need to be replaced & the sooner the better & that includes Saturday afternoons which many praise Durham for. There are many who could do that job just as well if not better.
