One of the biggest things wrong with England teams is the mentality is all wrong I'm sure they all go into tournaments with our disastrous past playing record in the back of their minds, this has to be put right or we'll never have a chance. [this one can be sorted]

I think money in another issue, players all millionaires these days how does a manager really have dressing room discipline and full respect when he stands there facing a bunch of millionaires. [I wouldn't think this one can be sorted now it's too late]

I'd also bring in a limit of only five foreign players in each league team to help bring through future England players better. [Now we're coming out of the EU this can surely be done soon]

That would be a start but I know there's more needed.

Forget that five foreign player rule Bill, won't happen.
EPL clubs are now global brands and to continue to attract money from all over the world the club's will sign players from all over the world. These clubs now exist first and foremost to make a profit and being some sort of nursery for England is not their concern.
Business is business.

Turned it off ages ago Bangla, I refuse to listen to Brazil's politics. But curious about Lulu's presence, why on earth was she on? The sisterhood won't be pleased with my saying this but the woman is an absolute cow.

The gig you mention was in celebration of my birthday 30 July. And yes I was alive on the occasion but am not disclosing what birthday I was celebrating on that day ..

Tuned in for the paper review only to hear Boozie asking Parlour if he'd been affected by BREXIT?! He went on to say that he was fascinated by Trump. He said to Parlour "I watched Hilary Clinton last night." And Einstein's reply? "Trump". Keep reading the Ladybird books Ray.

Admittedly we have had a few successes; a world cup win on home soil with a dodgy goal. A hand of God quarter final defeat where we clutched at straws for an excuse. A semi final defeat in 1990 which was only possible via a lucky extra time goal against a poor Belgium team and a couple of 'went down easy' penalties in the quarters against a better Cameroon team than us. Oh yes let's talk about Euro 96 with a lucky result against Switzerland, a great Gazza goal against the run of play v Scotland, one good win against an uninterested Holland and the only penalty shoot out we have ever won after a bore draw against Spain.
It's an amazing statistic that 1966 apart (all games at Wembley, dodgy decisions, but we did win it), England has only ever won 6 knock out matches in tournaments. Paraguay, Denmark and Ecuador in regulation, Belgium and Cameroon in extra time, and Spain on penalties. Staggering.

On reflection and regrettably you're probably right Premier League bosses couldn't give a stuff about England so it won't ever happen.
There are some very good sides out there around the world but Wales showed us what can be achieved with a bit of belief, determination and team spirit.

Some presenters must be on double pay for every time they mention Arsenal not spending - Bingham going over the subject again!

Seems obsessed with Vardy rejecting Arsenal...and that was 2 months ago! (He just decided to stay loyal - not like he then went and joined a lesser club..)

Anyway they have got a couple of players and there is still time.

Chelsea and Man City have only brought 2 or 3 I think (of note)

George and Plastic man giving the usual team Arsenal a going over and saying how they must do this that and the other but seemingly forgetting that despite all their faults ( endlessly put out by TS) Arsenal finished SECOND IN THE PREM last season which was above SPURS (20th year plus above them). MANU,MANC,CHELSEA,LIVERPOOL etc etc etc . Even if Arsenal won the Prem and the Euro Cup they'd still find something to slag them off about because TS is run by Spurs fans

Spurs fans even phone in pretending to be Arsenal fans to have a go, Oh yes they do! Conspiracy theory No8.

As regards transfer fees the probable money for Pogba is said to be around £100million plus wages of £12 million- £15 million a year for 5 years means a total circa £160 million.
This is an obscene amount when you think that would pay for 5,000 nurses for a year.

Happy birthday Ven! You've reminded me of the time I tried a bit too hard in Tuscany and tried to order a quarter of a litre of Prosecco. I ended up with a litre and a half! The good fold in the restaurant arranged for me to take away what i couldn't drink.

Thanks Billy. The age you guessed is wrong.
Are you anywhere close? Well you might ask but I could not possibly comment ..

Thank you Mallory. If you like Prosecco then I am sure you will enjoy the Venetian Cocktail (it is an actual drink, invented in the famous Harry's Bar.) You can now buy Aperol in the UK, they sell it in Sainsburys.

"What I couldn't drink .. " Five words which will never fall from the lips of Alan Brazil.

Sorry to go back here, am new to the forum but I just wanted to say that the Germans, French, Italians etc are all millionaires too and play in leagues with top teams filled with foreign players and do ok. Portugal just won the Euros led by Ronaldo on £350k a week! I wish I could offer up some answers Billy but I'm not sure what can be done. What I do is that England have always had decent players so I the problems run deeper.

Fair points about millionaire footballers MH I don't think anyone really knows how to fix the sorry state of our national football.

I know some people say we have no divine right to win things but I think we should have won things in the last 50 years. Fifty bloody years it's almost unbelievable init when you look at the great state of our domestic game and all we get every time at international level is a set of plonkers embarrassing themselves and the fans something just doesn't add up.

In that last Euros I am 100% convinced Leicester City would have at least reached the semis.

EDIT:

PS..
Welcome along to the thread Monkey let's hear your views on the presenters if you will.
