My God we are absolute crap so far - Southgate is earning his 4 year contract.

Typical England against a poor side - lacklustre and we will probably just get a win.

Scottish fans being very sensible and throwing missiles on the pitch.

We are not good at all, but on the plus side, I am 60 years old and would fancy a chance against this Scottish back four - who the hell is coaching them?

Have to say it seems a great idea to invite Butch along during his alcohol recuperation period he'll not go too far wrong with massive boozers Brazil and Ruddock and the all-night FREE bar.

Christ, even his promo photo has him clutching a wine. Will there be enough parking spaces for all the white vans though. So Al wont be in on 24th then.

Predictions? ... Are they all that?.

I didn't watch the game but I'm glad England won, we'll be alright and keep on winning qualifiers in traditional England fashion THEN on reaching the finals they'll all go out on the pitch with left legs on each side and play like the usual tossers they always do THAT YOU CAN PUT MONEY ON.

But, well done last night, any win against the Scottish is a result to celebrate, are the goalposts still there this morning and how is the pitch?.

I'm hoping Butch isn't hoping for a parking space.

No excuses for anything last night.

Well, it was wonderful to observe England being represented admirably at the very highest level in sport, with a quality of play that has rarely been equalled on the international stage.

But enough about Ronnie O' Sullivan and the snooker, did anyone watch the football?

In between squeaking and giggles about sausage sarnies and bacon butties George said the English players were OK last night.
What did she watch????
Sterling and Stones were atrocious and many others were poor.
The tactics seemed to be to pass across the back four while pointing upfield??????? which gave the Scots plenty of time to get every player back in defence..
The goals were good but the rest was the usual crap from England.

Yes maybe that's the right course of action if that's the case Ram I wouldn't blame you I wouldn't want to read it myself to be honest.

Sadly it's only the reality though isn't it, win all the qualifiers every World Cup and then mess up the big ones in the Finals.

Oops I'm off again just ignore me.

I don't think it's so much that they mess them up, particularly with this squad of players. Beating a poor side like Scotland is their level. When they come up against decent opposition, they're not good enough. They can't keep the ball against them, and they have little creativity, craft or guile. Even the defence, which has traditionally been a strength, is sub-par now by international standards.

Of the current squad, Hart is a very good goalkeeper, although even he was poor in the Euros, and Sterling would develop into a top class player if he hadn't had the misfortune to be born in England. Whether he will now remains to be seen. The rest of them are a ragtag bunch of mediocre to half-decent Premier League players, and are not even remotely close to being world-class.

No I am singing from the same hymn sheet as you England players are not in the same class as other players from a lot of countries, and not only the top countries but average countries as well. To make it even worse than all this we even can't beat teams in tournament play that we are better than because they beat us on fight, commitment and will to win.

This is sounding so depressing but it's exactly where we are very regrettably.

Years ago I did like Harry but these days I don't so much Ram and I definitely wouldn't want him running the national side. I don't know who I'd want to be honest as I don't think anyone could improve us to world level given it's run by donkeys and the whole setup so obviously out of date/shape and wrong.

I do like Eddie Howe, but would be leave Bournemouth? Perhaps we have the best manager for the national side, in Southgate at the moment. Even though we was out played by Scotland at the start and are very dour.

How come James Whale said Goldstein is a Miserable sod (yeah he is, but Cundy is also a Wind up merchant)

Is it still the perceived wisdom that the England manager has to be English?
Having an Aussie rugby coach has done wonders for the English rugby team.

And not too badly in the cricket either.

It doesn't have to be an English manager but the recent two European managers didn't cut the mustard either, probably it's just that the players no longer have any real interest?

Agree about Eddie Jones, what a guy
