Tuned into Talksport in the early hours of this morning and could not believe my ears! A knowledgeable, non-shouty presenter who was a pleasure to listen to. I had to double check that I had not accidentally pressed the BBC World Service preset on my bedside radio instead (buttons and display are on top so all done by feel while lying down). Mr Bob Ballard can come again in my home.

One thing I don't understand about him is why does he dress like one the Krankies, grey short trousers & school cap, You would think he could afford some decent clobber by now.?”

He wears those clothes because he gets paid a fortune to wear them.
Time you got down with the kids, that look is very popular.

I don't dislike Rushden as I do some others on TS, eg Durham,Cundy,Goldstein etc, but he is so boring. He seems to want to talk about any ludicrous subject except sport ( how many toilets have you got in your house? have you met a footballer eating ice cream?
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Jim White going on about Murray, saying he was better than Federer and Nadal is stretching it and saying Andy is the greatest Brit sportsman ever????? He must be on a wind up.
These two gents are getting past it but Andy has done really well and deserves his success. World No1 ,well done young man!
I wish some footballers such as Rooney would watch Andy and copy his dedication.

I bow to your knowledge, you're obviously a lot younger than me. Is that really the fashion?,I must look through my wardrobe. I recognise the make as I have a pair of golf gloves with that label on them.
Seriously I can't believe the Jimmy Krankie look is the in thing.😨

How comes you have a pair of golf gloves? Never seen a golfer play with gloves on both hands.
Think it's fifteen million over four years he gets for wearing that gear.

In the Winter you play with special winter gloves which are quite good & doesn't lesson the feel of the club. I'm sure it's the same logo ( under armour ).
Being honest, do you think it's a nice look?.

I wear left and right gloves in winter.

I doubt they have any effect on my game, but at my age I just hate being cold. I look like the Michelin man when I go out now, but hell, at my age, who gives a toss.

I will be amazed if he doesn't win more Wimbledon titles. I can't see anyone other than Djokovic or Federer beating him on grass, and Federer will be nigh on 35 when Wimbledon rolls round and has been out for six months.

He should also win more hard court Grand Slams. Maybe his big goal now could be winning the Australian Open, where he's actually been the most consistent of the four major titles, but lost in the final five times. However, Djokovic could come back really hard next year. We just don't know at this stage. Maybe he'll never play as well as he has over the last couple of years ever again. Or maybe he will recapture his form.

I hope Murray can get up to around 6-8 Grand Slam titles, so he can be bracketed with the likes of McEnroe, Connors, Edberg, Lendl, Becker, etc, because that is where he belongs. He's been incredibly unfortunate to come up against Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. At the moment, he's got less Grand Slam titles than Jim Courier, but he's a much better player. Courier won the French Open in back-to-back years in 1992 and 1993, and that's a great achievement. But if he'd come up against Nadal, he would undoubtedly have won it zero times.

Four Wimbledon's would do it great, he can't beat Perry's three in a row but if he got four I think that would be the greater achievement.

A word of praise for Jamie Murray.
He is ranked number one for the doubles.

Can't say I usually enjoy The Sports Bar but the call at 10.25pm tonight is one of the funniest I've ever heard since it went to an all sports format. Not sure if Billy can do one of his fancy uploads for others to have a listen but I was in stitches whilst driving home!

Shouty Jimmy White ranting on about Southgate and why the FA haven't already given him the job zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Next England game is March 2017 so there's no hurry JimLad.
I thought Dean "know it all" Saunders kept saying that "England won the 4 games under Southgate so give him the job right away" ????????
My memory is that it was 2 wins and 2 draws so surely Deano can't be so wrong???
Maybe I'm wrong.

All of TS wish Southgate to get the job, and if he does and it doesn't go well, then all of TS will be slagging off the "blazers" at the FA.

Lastly, it was amusing to hear Alan and Michael Quinn discussing games between two teams from Europe. Since Alan rarely watches games involving our teams then how much does he know about teams in Europe, ditto Michael.

With this years Formula 1 season shortly coming to its climax this Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with Britain's Lewis Hamilton 12 points behind German Nico Rosberg for the world championship title I'm hoping Alan Brazil is going to do one of his F1 special reports one day this week on the Sports Breakfast Show to tell us who is going to win it.

Alan's views on Formula 1 are invaluable to us Formula 1 fans out here.

Anyone hear Alan's reasoning for giving Gareth Southgate the England job?, "he is a good choice for England manager and he likes a few beers"
