Cheap point, are you sure you understand the definition of 'irony'. The abuse suffered in junior football (and anywhere else in sport) is horrendous, no need whatsoever to level your criticism at any particular Club, as this develops it seems likely that it has gone on everywhere
I obviously mistook Bangla's comment as a cheap shot at Chelsea and Wilkins. Apologies all round

Some one who doesn't like Newcastle and Liverpool, like me. Thought I was the only one
You can add me I've never been bothered about either either. [but both have truly great fans]

["either either"] you don't see that written often 'either'.

No problem.
Point I was trying to make is that Wilkins was at the club round about the time and perhaps had something to say about the culture of the place. He would have more insight than most so his view may have been I formative.

Big day for Mourinho today at Everton after Manchester United's worst ever start to a premier league season, Alan no doubts will be watching it somewhere through rapidly emptying lager glasses but of course whatever the result it definitely won't be Jose's fault at all.

I said to my mate at the end of last season, I bet some Leicester fans are calling for Ranieri to be sacked before the end of next season.

December was earlier than I expected. This is what I mean about modern football fans having no perspective!

Actually I'd like to add West Ham as I dislike them for no football reason whatsoever. They're not a rival to Forest nor ever have been.

I just get fed up of their fans going on about playing the 'West Ham way' and they always moan about whatever manager they have at the time. They get what they deserve in my opinion.

Oh I also get Fed up hearing Newcastle fans banging on about what a big club they are. So what? Success has nothing to do with how many people come to watch.

And don't get me started in Liverpool .....

- sorry, as you can tell I've been a tad grumpy today .....

I think its because they've only got 1 point from the last 4 games against modest (including my own) sides whereas at least they were losing to the top sides earlier in the season..

As you say fortunes can all change very quickly!

Their supporters have to appreciate that Leicester, bloody Leicester, won the league last season and are now definitely in the last 16 of the Champions League.

This is absurd. It will never happen again. It's not like next season West Brom will end up winning the league. We will never see the likes of this ever again.

Maybe they should cut the guy who achieved it a bit of slack.

Where are H&J?

Please, please, please tell me they're back soon - the two Mikes are the radio equivalent of waterboarding.

Sir Rod on with the two Mikes.
What's Parry got against the Rolling Stones new album?

Because it sounds like near octogenarians trying badly to recreate a market that has not existed since the 70's, apart from the sad old buggers who still think they are good.

They should have stopped after 'Start Me Up' - actually, looking back, musically they did.

Certainly agree with you Handfan but I think players get paid so much that fans expect them to keep turning in performances albeit maybe not to the very high standards of last season.

Maybe they feel there is a lack of passion or desire but then against us Leicester played ok but looked toothless in attack compared to last season.

I agree with you it would be daft to call for a change in the manager - still in the Champions league of course.

Leicester keep giving away the first goal which means they have to come out and attack whereas last season quite a few 1-0s went their way.

Five inch diameter imitation silver medallion.....

Ridiculous loud Kipper tie.......

All topped of with 16" wide flairs and platform shoes.

That's a fairly gruesome image you create Bill!
Thankfully the 70s clothes for me was school uniform and hand me downs
Love 70s music but the clothes were shocking but suppose at the time everyone thought they looked great.

Personally I thought that the 42 inch flared baggies draped over 6 inch platforms were quite the epitome of fashion.

The red Beverley, purple/green tonic strides, tassled loafers, Crombie and feathered rat tails look of my mid teens still seems smart to me though - and that was only 4 years before punk arrived. It was one hell of a decade for change.

The luminous green socks were a bit of a let down mind you.

I couldn't have put it better myself, though I'm finding talkradio in the afternoons quite funny now and actually look forward to it.

Seriously though, it does seem odd that both Paul and Andy have been off at the same time for quite a few weeks. Or I should it just me?

It'll be the end of the station for me if they get rid, just the straw that broke the proverbial.

Who knows, it wouldn't surprise me to see one of the few bits of quality on the station binned for more idiocy, yet they both said they were taking 3 weeks off at the start of this, and they said who their replacements were. So no reason to panic yet....

If, [and I accept it's still if] they get rid of H&J I think they will finally get the listener anger they deserve, listening figures to this dreadful station would drop at a rate never seen before. I've never been their biggest fan I admit, I've nothing against them they just happen to be on air at a time not suitable but I do recognise them as top quality.
They have built up a large loyal fan base, they have more fans than the rest of the muppets there put together, ... could this station really be that stupid to let them go?.

Is there actually any point talking about Arsenal to an ex Spurs player and Chelsea fan?

The bitterness and dislike is clear to hear..
