Coronation Street need to bring back Stella.

I liked the character and I thought Michelle was pretty good, other than the accent problems.

Especially with Leanne with a baby on the way, it would give Leanne family too as well as Eva.

I'd also liked to see her paired with someone, maybe someone from new York.

Also if they do bring Toyah back it could cause fireworks! As well as bringing back Janice and Les for a guest appearance.

I'm more the opposite. Bring Janice back full time and have Stella for a guest appearance.

I think Janice has a lot more to add, and has a strong history to play with.

No it was definitely Stella I was meaning, most boring, overused & overhyped character of all time!!

Think she must have been a Marmite type character as I certainly aren't one to jump on DS bandwagons in fact I'm usually finding myself fighting the opposite way
In Stella's case I wasn't even online until the latter stages of her time but when I first came on here most people seemed to be in agreement with what I already thought that she was someone Phil Collinson desperately wanted us all to love & turn into a Corrie icon but she just dismally failed to live up to that tag!! Seems only recently there's been a DS u-turn & people want her back

Yeah I liked Stella. Thought she was a good character. Why all this hate? She was very likeable

Only time I didn't like her is when she pretty much pushed a pissed up pregnant Kylie off the rovers table and she fell and bust her spleen, cos that was Stella's fault. If you watch the scene on YouTube there's comments saying Stella pushes Kylie so it's her fault

It is unlikely she will be back as she was Phil Collinson's pet.

They made a major mistake with Stella. She should have been a new, long running character at the heart of the show but they indulged in stunt casting that viewers struggled to accept and picked an actress who never intended to stay.

They should have cast an unknown in the role and if they had done it well she could be a major long running character, all the ingredients were there!

For me Michelle Collins never looked or acted like she was committed to the role!!

Also they should never have tried to rush her beiing integrated into the community!!
She was shoehorned into everybody's business far too early & it became a standing joke on here (hence the 'Stella Week' thread!!)
Again for me they missed a solid gold opportunity for a s/l when they made her an ex rape victim!! Surely to goodness Leanne ought to have been the result of that & that"s why she couldn't handle looking after her & walked out on Les leaving him with Leanne!!
That would have been a s/l solely for her to bond Leanne & her together!! As it was I never bought into her being Leanne's Mum in the slightest!!

Gosh no. Stella wasn't that great. At best she was tolerable, but her and her bloke running the pub together...that was an awful couple of years. I would love to see Janice and Les back though.

We were told she was iconic and a classic matriarch which is just not true. I agree that she was shoehorned into too many plots - Betty's funeral! - and her relationship with Leanne was rectified too quickly and too easily.

They missed an opportunity to create a character who could have become a classic matriarch.

Don't miss Stella at all but I would love it if Gloria came back. She was awesome.

Nooooooooooooooooo !! It was Michelle Collins' bestest friend in real life, Phil Colinson's, fault that Stella was so disliked; as the producer, he pushed her into every scene, situations where she would never have been. She became a joke. I was surprised that she allowed him to do that as, in previous roles, she had been an acceptable actress.
