Does Jason lack confidence ?

I am sure he must have been confident in his younger days because of all the stuff he's done. I think he rarely smiles because of this eg. in his opening VT he said he doesn't like his smile, it's like when people don't have good teeth and they smile without opening their mouth.
At the heart of it it's probably middle-age syndrome eg. when Andy told him to get his shirt off and sun bathe, he refused saying something about not wanting to get his body out. He's surrounded by people, in the main, with body confidence.
Also his obsession with what the rabble are shouting is making him nervous. I think he is frightened of going out to the baying mob - little does he know that they do not represent the general feeling for him.
So come on Jason, stop over-thinking things you can win this game.

He does strike me as someone with low self-esteem and - admittedly making a huge leap here - most guys I know who got into weights did so to boost their confidence so there may be something in what you say.

I think he's so preoccupied with showing that he's a nice guy that he's gets uptight and intense when he thinks he's not being seen that way.

It's been his undoing because I've no doubt he IS a nice guy and if he just loosened up a bit and stopped worrying about how he's coming across he'd do a whole lot better.

I agree. I'm sure he has low self esteem. He has a great build 👍

No he doesn't. He has achieved more than the rest of them put together.

Check out his body.

If only he knew it, he had become very popular with the viewers at home. Unfortunately, he may well be shooting himself in the foot with all this agonizing over the reaction of the baying mob on Friday. He might just be fretting himself out of winning this contest.

Well er, yes I see what you mean. Perhaps it's a recent thing then, maybe Charlie battered his self-esteem as well as him.

It's not to my taste, but he clearly works hard on it. He's been away from the gym for a few weeks. That might be enough to make him feel self-conscious about showing himself when he's not at his best (or what he considers his best).

Perhaps he wanted to be seen for himself and not as a physically fit stunt man who has "appeared" in Bourne and Spectre. He is the least boastful one in there.

Yes, maybe. It's an attitude that I would welcome. Other HMs, take note.

That doesn't prove he's not lacking confidence though. Plenty of people with self esteem issues turn to weights to try and boost their confidence.

I know quite a few. So many in fact that even I see a built guy I immediately think naww, and what's your issue mister. It's almost a cliché to me now.

Not saying Jason riddled with self doubt or anything, just don't think his body or successes are necessarily indicative of a very confident guy.

He looks like someone afraid of his own confidence, if that makes sense. He spoke to Andy about how a few years ago he wasn't a very nice person and he resolved to change. His behaviour throughout his time in the house speaks of someone who is just worried in case the 'old' Jason returns. Other than be badgered by Charlie and the Lateysha and Ryan evictions, he's not done much in he house at all in terms of showing his personality. I think that's because he's unsure of himself and doubts whether he really has changed.

That does make sense. He was really questioning himself the other night. I felt bad for him. I hope he has people on the outside who can help him put this in perspective.

Well apart from being a stunt man he owns and runs businesses and both take confidence perseverance and hard work. Hardly the achievements of someone lacking self-belief and confidence.

On a lighter note 😊 big muscles doesn't mean big confidence. Same with Ryan big head doesn't mean big brain.

I agree with some of the sentiments mentioned already. I don't think it's a lack of self confidence, I think it's more a case of being concerned about the perception that others have of him due to his size. He may well have enjoyed looking as he did in his younger days because he looked tough but now that he is middle aged he wants to that off and he is worried his honesty is coming across as brutal, though not to those of us who appreciate honesty over the Jackson type of smarminess.

Of course. As I said I don't think he's riddled with self doubt and I imagine in a lot of situations he is very confident. But I don't think he's an all rounder in terms of confidence.

He seems really out of his comfort zone in there. And now he's questioning himself he doesn't even seem confident in his own skin.

Those photos were probably in his 30s where he has a muscle body. He's now about 50.

I think it's quite common when people get to a certain age that they look back and start questioning things they've done or not done. It can be quite soul destroying having regrets. When he said he's not been a nice person in the past it could seem quite trivial to outsiders. Thing is eg. When someone close dies and you haven't said all you would have liked it can wear you down if you allow it to. You have to put it in the past and live your life to the full.

And he still a fine figure of a man. He would have been chosen as a stunt man for Bourne and Spectre if he were not.

Who exactly was he a body double for? One of the old members of the cast?

I couldn't give a hoot if he was June Whitfield's body double; he still cuts a fine figure of a man and was fundamental in changing the dynamics of the house for the better.

The disbanding of the bedroom crew has made for a better house imo. Andy says he feels more relaxed, Evelyn and Laura are no longer sidelined and Jayne is back in the land of the living after her brief vacation to Lateysha's butthole.

Yep, an altogether better house, shame it's just for the last week. Sad thing is Jason is now questioning himself over it. If he saw it how I did he should be patting himself on the back and Dad dancing til dawn.

You are starting to sound like a troll especially as you have now started another thread about Jason and could easily have confined your views about him to this thread..

No I don't believe for one minute that Jason lacks confidence, I think he's a deep thinker and a total game player that will do anything to win myself! Jason is a business man and is out for the money and the kudos of winning BB! I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him! I really think that Jason is playing the audience, as is Jackson and Andy too!
