Well me thinks we all knew it was going to be Paul, but where's Ben? unless they have a fight, Ben sulked off, Paul got attacked? Ben will turn up drunk tomorrow, not knowing what happend to Paul.
Adam and Steve, two of the best actors in soap by miles. |

So knew it was going to be Paul
Looks like it was a homophobic attack too :/ The question is, where's Ben?

Thank **** Paul was the death! If it was Ben I'd be tempted to switch off with all the departures and recastings of characters I like. Atleast him and his awful hairstyle can never return!

Did the actor leave in a hurry or something? Seemed a bit rushed

Did anyone else notice Original Denny taunting Phil in the hospital?
I just re-watched on iPlayer. It really does look like it. And that look he gives Phil is proper evil. |

Given which actor was departing, the writing was on the wall regarding the twist. It was a similar set up when they killed off Fat Boy as we knew the actor was leaving.

I think it would've been more of a surprise for those who don't come on forums/social media to discuss/dissect every aspect of the show like we do.

I thought the episode was alright. It did feel rushed though. Steve McFadden nailed it as always and buster nailed Kathy.
![]() It just feels strangely void or something I can't describe. |

Yup very rushed. Unless this was always the plan for him and it's a homophobic hate crime. I think it's sad really. I quite liked the idea of Ben and Paul being together properly after all the time they hid it. Even Phil was getting used to the idea.

Strange episode. I thought it would be more harrowing but I guess that's because we had all discussed it beforehand!

Yeah it was really odd. The writing was way off and the acting kind of too. Read a lot of people are saying we only knew it was Paul because we were on here. But the writing was too obviously pointing at Paul and didn't go about it subtly.
I felt they were trying to recreate the Carol/Billy episode but not quite hitting it.

Apart from Adam and Steve's acting it was very underwhelming because it was so obvious that the spawn of Philth shares his immortality genes.
Gillian is very poor at times and this was one of them - that scene with Kathy wailing was bloody awful. The Cokers are going to be utterly devastated, if nothing else it will give them something better than being Babe's bitches. On a more cheerful note Belinda, Fitney and Lauren should get involved in a naked shower wrestling storyline (after the watershed). 6/10 at best. |

10/10 Episode
10/10 MyLauren 0/10 MyCindy That was really nice, I enjoyed that. I needed cheering up and Horrible Paul dying was just the ticket. Phil was bang on, I wanted Steven to shut up too. Denise still being a deeply bitter and jaded woman as always. Horrible, horrible Johnny. What a selfish and petty brat he is, played by an atrocious actor. I doubt the exam board would have awarded him such a mark if they new that last time he was faced with a breach of the law he cowered and hid like the yellow-bellied coward that he is. |

So how's he going to still be in till September? Suppose it could be another long wait for the funeral like Peggy.
But the question on everybody's lips now is where's Ben??? Thought the scenes where Ian, Phil, Steven, Shirley & Kathy found out Ben had 'died' were really good. Very few words & just their devastated facial expressions, good acting for once lol! The scene where Kathy was blaming herself & Shirley was comforting her was a good scene as well. And of course all the Steve & Adam stuff was brilliant as always |

Surprised Phil and Ian remained crying even after they saw it was Paul.
They'd built themselves up to that moment and it can't be easy to just turn that sort of emotion off. |

The episode seemed weird since it seemed like I had missed an episode since Friday's one. The tone seemed to change and Johnny and Belinda seemed different which I didn't really like today.
Paul died without ever finding out that Jenny was his mum - Pam is going to feel very guilty about that. I think that Paul's second ever duff duff was his death (first was when he cried and hugged Christine after Pam met but couldn't handle her). In tomorrow's episode, Les still thinks Paul is in his room and doesn't go in ![]() The hospital should've atleast hurried up or got more proof before they assumed that it was Ben who was dead. They didn't assure Phil or Ian that there was a possibility that it wasn't him. |
