The writing was terrible!! Distractingly bad. Plus combine it with Adam Woodyatts hamming acting... oh dear funny badness. The writing clearly had a lot of the actors performing terribly but I won't completely blame the writing. As the only good thing was belinda. The actress rose above all the rubbish and was hilarious

Whitney was good too against the bad writing.

Do you believe in God Ian?
It'd be good.

I mean wtf was that? And just felt so out of nowhere Lol

she was awful!

the shirley and dead kathy scene with the phone was good. the scene after when they were wailing and screaming like banshees was awful

It weren't that bad, but it was a bit random, and I was eye rolling through a lot of scenes. The Belinda stuff and Carter (No surprises here) stuff was pretty dull.

There wasn't anything wrong with Adam and Steve's acting however. Wonderful as always.

I put it down to poor writing really. The show doesn't really have any direction at the moment, and the most concerning thing is that SOC's episodes are already airing and we still don't really know anything about his vision for the show.

The storyline's seemed too drawn out, what was shown could have been covered in about 5 minutes. I still can't believe despite all that's been going on that Shirley hasn't worked out what Kathy & Buster are up to - both disappearing at the same time, him not talking/listening to her, etc. She's suspicious of him at the best of times.

they aren't his episodes, they are just Sock Producing DTC's work. Sock's work won't be on screen till sept/oct and so we won't get his vision (if we do at all) till closer to the time

Eastenders is whack at the moment, what has happened to this soap, well at least it wasn't about affairs and relationships.

And once again we got to see Ian doing his Benny Hill running impersonation!

I wonder why they didn't show what happened to Paul. Why the need for a twist? Why focus on the Mitchells and the Beales when its the Cokers who will be hurt the most?

I'm surprised they didn't keep it going for longer, I thought at the very least it would go onto tomorrows episode to reveal the identity of the deceased.

Or even better keep it going right up to the funeral where Ben walks in asking why everyone looks so surprised, to then go on to say he went to stay with Grant for a few weeks.

These are not his episodes. He's overseeing the remainder of DTC's episodes. His name is just in the credits. His episodes haven't started yet. By then we'll know who he might axe and who he might introduce.

I didn't think it was that bad. I loved ian, Phil and Steven. I also didn't mind the Carter stuff but the ksthy/buster stuff is crap.

Don't you like Kuster or Buster's Custard?

As I said in the episode thread, it was just a big disappointment. We knew Johnny Labey was going to leave, but then we get a story on the official site saying the actor is staying til September!

I just don't know what the vision is lately - I didn't mind the Belinda scenes, but the Carter-Draamaa, and Kathy and Buster no thanks but the Carters once again took centre stage. I'd have rather had the focus on Ian and the Mitchells and them having to come to terms that Ben may or may not have died and perhaps some scenes with Ian and Phil who are the shows best two actors and tragedy plays to both of their strengths.

I know the Corrie episodes with Kylie's passing, and David getting angry and wanting revenge are different, but they've handled it much better than EE and considering they are a tad light-hearted than EE, they've blown the show out of the water! The storyline has played to the actors strengths, and even the stuff with the lesbians, Leanne and Jennie has intertwinned well with the main story.

I hope SOC has a vision for the show, or is he going to be another Birkwood, Hutchinson or Newman.

It was dismal.

Lacking any pace or subtlety. I'd rather have seen the attack in the episode to be honest, especially if it was down to homophobia, I think that would have had a lot more emotional weight and have something to say. This on the other hand was just a 'shock tactic' that failed because it lacked any natural script direction.

I enjoyed the Episode Bar Kathy as Gillian can't act well. Enjoyed Steve and Adam . Whitney drama was good. Liked Belinda

The Beale's and Mitchell's hanging around the local hospital has become a regular thing. Thank heaven for Belinda, Whitney, Denise and Shirley....the only bright spots in a dismal episode.

I think the fight wasn't shown onscreen just so that EE could 'trick' people into thinking that Ben was dead until the last minute (even though it was obviously Paul).

Well Kathy and Buster were having an affair behind Shirley's back and Lauren was worrying about whether to tell Whitney about Lee and Abi's one night stand

I think they get Nectar points or some other reward scheme.

Are they seriously going down the homophobic attack route? I mean, I know it happens but it would be nice if EE didn't shove every stereotype down our throats.

I haven't seen the episode but if it's that bad I think I'll skip it.

I think EE had been very average lately but this was a decent episode.
