Meat flavour crisps that are suitable for vegetarians should be banned.

Especially ones that claim to be "Full on Flavour."

Yeah, I'm looking at you, M&S.

If it makes you feel any better I was very drawn to picked onion (not Monster Munch though) but Walkers, in the greeny yellowy bag? Anyway, They're very delicious but so strong. These days I'm a bit of a wimp flavour-wise.

Up until a couple of years ago, that category included Roast Chicken and Smoky Bacon.

It still included Ready Salted and Salt and Vinegar, though, and It seems a little drastic to exclude these traditional flavours.

Although I do hanker after Raspberry Ripple every now and then

Because they're supposed to be meat flavour. At least Walkers now use actual Chicken in their Roast Chicken and Bacon in their Smokey Bacon flavours now.

As an addendum it really annoys me that I have to suffer meatless crisps, all because vegetarians want the taste of meat but don't want animals slaughtered in order to get it.

All flavoured crisps taste disgusting. The true crisp connoisseur only appreciates plain crisps with the little blue bag of salt.

As is Tomato Ketchup.

I voted Salt & Vinegar, but I love Prawn Cocktail & Tomato Ketchup too.

They were meat in 'flavour'. That's why you can buy vegetarian bacon rashers, which I have now and again but whatever the flavouring is, tends to repeat on me, same with smoky bacon crisps.

Anyway, aw diddums. I feel for you and your 'suffering'.

Because you're a veggie. Stick to your plants and stop ruining our delicious meat products.

Smokey Bacon for me, no contest.

But if the crisps are going to be accompanied by something else (eg cheese), then it must be the plain Ready Salted.

I like Cheese & Onion, but find I can taste them for far too long afterwards.
I hate Salt & Vinegar, they make my mouth sore.

Hahaha. I will eat what I like. Direct your furore at the crisp companies who used non-meat based flavourings on their crisps. Have you contacted them to ask why they did not use meat based flavours? If not, why not?

Ready Salted for me. With potatoes simple flavours work best.

Your quest is over. The world's greatest crisp flavour has been discovered right here in Scotland. It is Mackie's Haggis and cracked black pepper.

Salt and Vinegar of course although I love spicy Nik Naks and have a weakness for Beefy Mcoys or those really mustardy brannigans ones.

Seriously people pick ready salted? AKA Plain crisps- the ones that as kids no one wanted from the variety packs. The vanilla of snacks.

Good quality plain crisps are the best for eating with other food, eg cheese.

And I wish people wouldn't diss vanilla. Real vanilla is delicious and doesn't come cheap. Cheap plain ice cream often doesn't have even a hint of vanilla about it.
