Absolutely, but the 1.30m Time Life programmes did show many scenes that had never been seen since original broadcast.

I agree that a montage year by year would be fantastic and much more realistic.

Too late for Corrie though!!

Sadly there was a lot of episodes appeared on Dailymotion, again from 00s & again from Steph Stokes, now all recently wiped!! It seems there's no escaping the 'enjoyment police!!'

I think part of the issue might be that anyone can file a copyright claim against a YouTube video

Guess Granada don't have any ownership claim on the Time Life releases.

Thanks for the heads up anyway, I might watch them as I've never seen any of them. Watch them get zapped from YT now! )

Now you've done it! Some of the collection videos like Bet have now been set to private (wasn't the case last week), which can't be good.

Clearly someone responsible for taking down videos is reading. *waves*

They have taken down recent episodes which is a shame because I hate the ITV Player if/when I need to catch up on something.

By the looks of it they've even nuked some of the first thirteen episodes that used to all be watchable. With such a hard clampdown I can only imagine an imminent announcement regarding legal access is forthcoming immediately

Will be interesting to see if they do get back to you.
I have a feeling I know their answer.

Which leads back to ITV providing access online and all the issues we have outlined in this thread.

I fear the reason stuff is being pulled is no more than a clampdown by ITV on copyrighted material being uploaded by third parties.

YouTube have continued their purge, notice a few more more accounts have been cleared out like this one, a shame - had some good Corrie clips:

ITV are clearly utilising Youtube's ContentID system. What a pity.

I know this thread is a month plus old now but just thought I'd comment seeing as I just recently noticed the YouTube nuke from July.

I remember basically the entire of 2009 was on YouTube for Corrie and had escaped copyright for 7 years, probably because the videos were split into parts and didn't have the year in the titles (just the date). I watched the entire year over the span of a few months and I found I could get really engrossed in the storylines. Shame they got taken down because I was in the process of making a video for the David Platt Storylines in 2009 because there is already one for the 2010 storylines. I do still have some full episodes saved on my computer but only a handful, a stab in the dark but does anyone else have any episodes from 2009 saved?

I'm thinking if ITV were to post all 8,000 something episodes online then I doubt people would actually watch the series from the beginning to now, but I think different people would watch a different selection of episodes and overall there would be enough revenue generated by each episode.

Yes, I noticed Fulleps channel got taken down, despite seven years of inactivity (won't deny this pissed me off). There is definitely an agenda behind the removal of these episodes, maybe Corrie are wiping the slate clean and just want us to care about episodes post-2013.

To be honest if they started uploading pre-2013 clips onto the official channel I'd be satisfied, since they seem to cover post-2013 pretty well with the clips they upload. But if your theory is true I don't understand the logic because they still make references to pre-2013 events so it's not like anything has been retconned. As recently as 2 weeks ago they uploaded some 2013 clips so maybe we have hope that they will over time fill out the show's history with clips? Also they did release some from the Ena Sharples days last year which is encouraging.
