What day was It supposed to be in yesterday's corrie? Characters like David referred to the stabbing as being "yesterday" which would make It Saturday, yet characters like Beth were going to work?

Always a difficult one from a continuity point of view when crucial episodes air either side of a weekend.

I too was wondering how long after Kylie's stabbing last night's episodes were supposed to represent. The main thing is that Gemma seemed to be doing 'the right thing' - or at least that's what we were led to believe she was doing!

I'd say it was the day after the stabbing - they were only clearing the tape away at the start of the first episode and the police questioning was just beginning. As for underworld working on a Saturday- they had to finish a big order so it could have been overtime?

Think it was meant to be Saturday. Underworld working Saturday sticks out like a sore thumb but a some places do 6 day weeks now.

Weekends don't tend to exist in the land of Coronation Street, with the exception being Sunday (which is such a special occasion characters must always mention it being Sunday).

So they go to sleep on Friday, and magically wake up on Monday.

Of course it's possible last fridays episodes didn't actually take place on the day of transmission - did we see the 15th in screen anywhere like a mobile phone?

If it was in fact say Thursday 14th, then the next day would still be a standard working day.

They did clearly state that the stabbing had been the previous day.

Have to admit i was quite surprised that Gemma was up and about - she took a heavy blow on those cobbles and was inconscious for several minutes - yo_kd think the Hospital would have kept her in for Observation but i guess maybe they had overnight and she'd been discharged that morning.

Sunday is when they all go to church so vicar billy can have the pub to himself and get some peace and quiet.

It's the same in Emmerdale, stuff happens on Friday and In the next episode (Monday) people refer to the last episode as "yesterday", yet everyone is going to work etc, like a weekday.
