Of the amount of murders, crimes, chaos that has happened in Coronation Street? They seem to tut and behave like it is such a shock when something bad happens, but has anyone ever said "there goes another one" or "here we go again" when it comes to a disaster or someone being murdered? I would be baffled if my street had such a high crime rate, bodies being uncovered, people being killed.

It would be good if they actually acknowledged this as a sort of in-joke. Does anyone other soap have characters aware of the ridiculous amount of violent in their square/village/town etc?

I do wonder if the rest of Weatherfield has this much crime and chaos, or the street is just cursed.

Not Corrie I know, but when Shirley shot Phil in EE, Ian (I think)'s reaction was 'again?' (as a reference to when Lisa shot Phil before). I liked it because it basically parodied the amount of stuff going on

They all seem to just accept it.

Kylie was murdered in broad daylight in the middle of the street they live on. Surely they'd be a little bit worried there was a murderer on the loose.

That's true.

But Kylie's death was (for all they know) a random murder by someone with mental issues. It could have been any of them - yet they seem non-plussed that he (or she) could return at any time.

I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable if someone was murdered outside my front door.

Who knows, maybe they just assume it's something from Kylie's past catching up with her.

Would Kylie's 'saintly' image be damaged once the truth outs.

Did Kylie have a saintly image? She was always pretty "rough and ready" wasn't she?

Also, there would have been press attention, a murder scene set up - tents the works

They did at least have it on a newspaper front page the other night that Sarah was looking at - which for once looked vaguely convincing (these things are the bane of my life in TV programmes as they usually look ridiculously unconvincing).

I don't think anyone in Weatherfield has picked up on the abnormal amount of dramas / murders / disasters and everyone else in-between.

I do remember though about 10 years ago on Home and Away Alf mentioned he thought Summer Bay was cursed after yet another disaster (the helicopter crash).

You'd think somebody like Norris would express concern about what all these crimes must be doing to house prices.

The one that should really worry characters is how much more likely they are to die of unnatural causes by staying on the street. Rough figures as they were done by tally on that list (and there's a few hard to classify such as Jono) but even if there out by a few either side. Not to mention some on street Deaths will be off screen (discovered bodies etc)

On Screen (mainly on street) Deaths
Unknown cause: 2
Natural Causes: 23
Unnatural Causes: 49

Off screen (mainly off street) Deaths
Unknown causes: 14
Natural Causes: 55
Unnatural Causes: 30

If I've got a bit more spare time later I'll go through and check each death for an actual location to better classify them.

Oi that's Slander!! Her conviction was 'unsafe' , and she's pending a retrial. 5.5 years and counting

Tracy had her retrial in February 2011 (off screen) and was found not guilty.
