EE: Tributes to Paul
J-B
19-07-2016
I thought it might be nice if we all share some of our favourite moments of Paul, to mourn him like.

I'll start with this little gem: http://i.imgur.com/Lb8JZz2.jpg.

Don't hold back, let all of your grief out here.

Thanks.

I have to say that im going to really miss Paul Coker

His acting was fantastic

And his final scene was the best performance from a corpse i have seen in the history of TV

The way he managed stay still for long periods and not move, requires a skill which we have never seen before from any of the greatest actors in history

Im so upset about the demise of Paul Coker. I dont really know how im going to get over it. Im just going to take each day as it comes

This has been a dark day in Eastenders history, and i cant see how the show will ever recover from this devastating loss

We will miss you Paul Coker, you have given us some great memories also a lot of great iconic scenes and great performances, that we wont see again in our lifetime

You were best actor of your generation, and you will never be forgotten

Is he worth it?

A useless character I am glad to see the back of.

When they announced his departure, I wasn't really that bothered. He's been a nothing character, and his acting was pretty poor at times.

It is typical though that my lasting memory of him will be this storyline. I thought it was all executed really well, and has been sad as the writers have really been building him and Ben up as a couple.

It's a shame as if the writing had been like this since his arrival, maybe he'd be staying?

When Philth 'forgot' his name and referred to him as 'your friend' basically sums up the character.. forgettable. RIP Paul.

Paul does get a lot of stick on here but I really liked him as character and Jonny Labey is a decent actor. It is a shame that they axed Paul before he was developed fully, especially when there are many other worse actors/characters n the show.

the show is obviously much more interested in making it about the Mitchells, than it is about Paul and his family, sure they are giving Les and Pam something, but its only as part of their exit, and Pauls death has first of all been a fake out death for Ben, giving Phil, Ian and Kathy something, and then its about Bens attack, how his family reacts, and finally how Ben deals with Pauls death.

It is very much the case, of a death of a supporting character, not really about them, but about how it effects the main cast.

In the end, (and ive said this before) DTCs only successful new characters had been the Carters, the rest will likely (or have been) axed by the new producer, and no one is really going to miss them.

I could see Kush and his family sticking around, but really that is it.

I think so yes, I guess he was only brought in to replace Johnny. So know he is back, there is no need for him.

Couldn't stand the character, all that silly hair and Alice band thing going on. The bloke wasn't unpleasant as far as I could tell, but I just cringed every time he was on screen so, sorry OP, no happy memories to report!

Well I liked Paul! It's just a shame that they didn't give him much more to do than pining after Ben whilst he hung around with his beard. they only started to flesh his character out when they decided to kill him off and i think in the last few weeks we saw a lot of potential for paul's character and the ben + Paul relationship. I guess now ben will revert back to being angry Ben and won't let anyone get near him until one night he's out drinking with Johnny, let's his guard down and ends up kissing him

He didn't forget his name. He was going to say "your boyfriend" but stopped himself after saying "your..." and changed it as he couldn't bring himself to call him that - hence Ben's outburst.
