I was just commenting on Glendarroch's post which said Dr Sleaze had given up everything to shack up with Belle.

I was hoping we had seen the back of Belle's imaginary friends, but no. What on earth is she going to do when this Ellie gives birth and hands her an imaginary baby. How is Belle even going to make out she's got a bun in the oven, wear a pillow?

How is she going to get out of the midwife visits and the GP visits?

Although, when it started, he did not know she was a mentally ill patient, he didn't find any of that out until he went to Lisa's for a call out, and saw her picture.

So technically, he was only having an affair (which is bad enough), but he did not know it was one of his surgery's mentally ill patients, or what her age was.

Yes , but once he found out he was morally obliged to split with Belle. He took a considerable and I'll advised risk in not doing so.

I didn't t mean that he sacrificed anything. What I meant was that he RISKED losing everything in continuing the affair once he knew that Belle was a patient, which hardly speaks of good judgement on his part. Or are we supposed to believe that he was so passionately in love with her that it was worth the risk?

As OnJ says, he was probably so arrogant he thought the truth would never come out
