And Shirley is gonna be a great-grandmother.

How do you think she will react?

He's barely a mediocre grandfather, let alone great.

I would not go betting your houses on this baby being born.

Buster has a nice relationship with Lee but needs more scenes with Johnny and Mick.

Shirley will be over the moon but refuse to be thought of as a great grandma since she would feel old. Also Sylvie is going to be a great great grandmother!

Yes but that doesn't stop you from been a great-grandparent. My friend was a grandmother at 35. And if her grandchild has a child at 16 like his dad did with him then she will be a great-grandmother at 51.

I think Shirley was 14 when she had Mick (I think Buster must have been about the same age). And was Mick approx 16 or something when he and Linda had Lee?

Mick was younger than 16 when Lee was born going be the ages given when they first arrived. I'm sure we were told Lee was born in 93 (he was already 21 before they arrived) and Mick was 35 (born 1978). We also saw Nancy turn 21 when Stan was still alive and she is the second child.

If, as in the Carters case, you have two generations having kids whilst underage, then you can easily get to be great grandparents that young.

Over in Hollyoaks, Leela was a Grandmother at 29 - had a daughter at 14 who also had a daughter at 15! Should that happen again, Steph have a baby at 14 Leela would be a Great Grandmother at 43!

Legally the youngest would be 48.

I think Buster might have been a bit older than Shirley as he was supposed to have been working at Billingsgate with Stan and I'm sure they'd changed the school leaving age from 14 to 16 by 1977. Unless of course it was just a Saturday or after School job but that seems unlikely with the hours those kind of markets work - very early start and then shut up shop mid afternoon so school hours.

that shot of Stacey and Lauren both with prams, with Linda looking on, that highlighted the number of babies there is at the moment on the Square

I think the std may harm the baby. Sad, but possible.

I know, my friend was 18 when she had him and he was 16 nearly 17 when he became a father. He's had a second child this year two years later.

I became a great-aunt at 35 myself

Mo Harris became a great-granny at 48. (Born 36, Zoe born 84)

Think Billy may have became a Great-Grandad in his forties too?

Bit squiky we saw incumbent Great-Grandad Buster in a state of undress on Monday. And Great-Granny Kathy naked except for her duvet

Lola is their niece, not grandniece. Dan Pearce was their half-brother not nephew. Lexi is their grandniece though.

As for the ages of the Carters (and I'm doing the original ages):

Shirley was born in 1963 and Buster was born in 1961. Shirley was 14 when Mick was born and Buster was 16.

Mick was born in 1977. I assume that Linda is the same age.

Lee was born when Mick and Linda were 14, Nancy when they were 15 and Johnny when they were 16. So Lee was born in 1991, Nancy in 1992 and Johnny in 1993.

Buster became a grandfather at 30 and Shirley became a grandmother at 28.

If this baby is born, than Lee becomes a father at 25, Whitney a mother at 24, Mick and Linda a grandfather and a grandmother at 39, Shirley a great-grandmother at 53 and Buster a great-grandfather at 55.

Oh and for added fun, both Phil and Buster are the same age which means that Kathy is 11 years older than the both of them having been born in 1950.

Before Lee came in to the show and he emailed Mick, didn't his email address have 91 in it?

Lee was originally born in 1991. DTC changed the ages around because they decided they didn't like the idea of Mick and Linda having three kids before they were 18. But originally Lee was born in 1991. Shirley and Buster were grandparents at 28 and 30.
