This thread has given me a great laugh. Thank you, OP!

That may have been the case in the past but things changed in 2015 and a lot of people of different ages started to like him and were openly admitting it. Due to the strength of his material. Not just Year 6 girls.

Must be as only 36000 voted around the World, or MTV viewer numbers, besides taste is quite shocking.

They died in 2016:-
David Bowie
Prince
Keith Emerson
Dave Swarbrick (Fairport Convention)
Maurice White (Earth Wind and Fire)
Paul Kantner (Jefferson Airplane)
Glenn Frey (Eagles)
Merle Haggard (legendary Country artist)
Scotty Moore (legendary 1950's rock 'n' roll guitarist)
George Martin (legendary producer, aka the "Fifth Beatle")

Justin Bieber is still alive

Just noticed the OP's account has become inactive (banned). So yeah you are right he was just starting controversial threads with links to a site that seemed to make up stuff. Basically just click bait.

So it's unlikely this 'poll' ever existed, and hopefully no one thinks JB is the greatest musician ever, including the OP.

It's a complete nonsense, he's not, neither was Jackson.

I've seen a few women say 'I'm embarrassed to admit I quite like the new Justin Bieber single' - not exactly loud and proud fans I say

I decided to have a listen to a few of his new songs and, just as I expected, bland, generic, pop pap

Well I've seen quite a few 20-something blokes including a few personal trainers say that they like him, and considering the 1st 3 singles from his album went Number 1 I think it's safe to say he has a large fanbase.

One of my local nightclubs even had a Justin Bieber night.

A lot of old people seem to like disliking him though.

I can't believe people are getting angry about this. It's a poll conducted by MTV, a channel that airs more reality television than music. It's irrelevant.

He's an arsehat

Hes not even the best pop star of NOW, let alone historically.

His recent songs saved his career. hes lucky he didn't fade away quickly like so many others.

He clearly loathes his fans (its incredible the amount of denial his fans have about this) & he looks miserable as sin most of the time. He also seems devoid of personality, is neither funny, nor charming, nor eccentric. He's not cool, he's not a great creative himself, he's not got any great insights into life.

Other than being HAWT I fail to see anything appealing about him.

Gangnam style has over 2 billion- does that make it the best song ever made?

Yes he's a nob but his music is good. He's not even that hot anymore. But I like his music.

Yeah, when I saw the thread title I thought it referred to Justin Timberlake, I didn't even consider Bieber!

Any poll is going to be affected by the demographic of those taking it, so this is an MTV poll so surprise, surprise BIeber wins. If they'd asked any question of a positive nature the answer would have been Bieber ... "best shoes", "best songwriter", "best future potential president"

Justin Timberlake winning such a poll would be equally ludicrous too (in my unbiased opinion of course ).

Justin Hayward (of the Moody Blues) is the unquestionably the most talented Justin in music (in my unbiased opinion of course ).

I don't even see that he's attractive at all. For me, he is the very epitome of average but that seems to be what is popular these days. 1D are the same - average looks, average vocals, average songs but strangely popular.
Kids, I get liking bland, generic pop - they haven' yet developed taste but adults liking these vanilla acts - no, don't get it

I suspect Justin Bieber has ended up 1st purely because he's doing well right now.

Will his music have the same long lasting impact as Michael Jackson in 30 years time, quite like how many musicians even today are still inspired by the music Michael Jackson was making 30+ years ago?

Let's come back to this in 2046 and see which of two are ranked higher.
