Ah I really wish hadn't happened. I was hoping this storyline would end up being funny and Nick/Steve/Leanne/Michelle could all end up raising the baby together but it looks like it's just going to be really miserable and depressing.

It's just lazy storywriting. Nobody needs to get pregnant who doesn't want to in this day and age, though I get that Leanne thought she couldn't have children, but she was presumably having a very regular sex life with Peter and Nick (plus a few one night stands along the way) and never seemed to cop out.

The most stupid baby storyline so far though was when Faye got pregnant at (what was it?) 12, around the same time that Sarah and Bethany turned up again, yet nobody made the comparison, and the people concerned never spoke to one another about it.

No, I meant two women pregnant by the same man.

Yes, Sally and Gail being pregnant at the same time is where their friendship started.

There have been quite a few instances of people in soaps giving birth on the same day, or only days apart, - it'4 how they manage to do baby swap or snatching storylines. As well as Ronnie and Kat, Alison and Sarah Lou, we had Laurel and whatever the woman who believed Arthur was hers in Emmerdale and Tegan and Diane in Hollyoaks.

Re two women being pregnant to the same man - Sam Mitchel and Ronnie Mitchell in EE in 2010 - Ronnie was already quite pregnant with James when Sam gave birth to Richard - Jack being both of the boys father.

In Brookside, didn't Susannah fall pregnant with Emma to Max when Jacqui was already carrying Harry for them as a Surrogate?

I wonder if they'll reference that a couple of years ago Michelle was so sure she didn't want a baby that she tried to bully Steve into having a vasectomy?

That would've been amazing but alas, Corrie doesn't do 'light hearted' pregnancies anymore. It either unexpected surprises or ways to delay the inevitable break up.

What was stupider was Sarah coming back and getting knocked up by the fairy gangster. She lived in Italy for years, supposedly built up a career, probably slept with god knows how many men......then she suddenly turns up in Weatherfield and finds herself bundled with another kid a year down the line. Something in the water, eh........

Lol, nope. That would remind us of how vile she was, and this storyline is obviously being made to make us pity her. She'll no doubt be weeping and crying about how she always wanted children with Steve, and now he has gotten another woman pregnant. Her fan club will gather at the pub, give Steve the evil eye, tut away and tell him that "Michelle is the best thing that has happened to you!"

I already pity Michelle and that's without the pregnancy. The show tends to go overboard in saying she's the best thing to happen to him but compared to his other wives she doesn't give him half the stress. He's the one who's cheated on her In the past and recently ran off to Spain for a year more or less. If the fan club are always telling him she's the best thing to happen to her it's probably because he's constantly Messing it up with her.

Kate Oates can't seem to make up her mind whether to have everyone knocked up or knocked down.
