I think it's on fire at the moment, the aftermath of the caravan park explosion is brilliant as so many people are affected in so many different ways and these effects will be felt for a long time. It's not just a stunt and then it's forgotten after 2 weeks which so often happens in soaps.

I miss the good old days of Home and Away. We still have good actors but there are lots of unlikeable characters and the majority of storylines are about romance. It's impossible to invest in couples and we don't have stable couples. Leah and Zac are good together but Leah is doomed forever. I'm glad iconic characters like Sally, Colleen, Fisher etc have left ages ago because they aren't destroyed by the writers. I don't like what the writers are doing to Marilyn and Leah. I'm pleased the producers have given Irene more screentime and they brought back Duncan which is excellent news, in my opinion.

Is this Australian pace? I watch it at UK pace and Marilyn hasn't come back, nor has Duncan. Leah gets on my nerves, she's so interfering and thinks she's right all the time.

Oops yes it is Australian pace. Next time, I will put in spoiler tags
Leah is one of the biggest hypocrites and she annoys me a lot. She's a caring person but she can be sanctimonious sometimes. I'm a bit annoyed she is living at the Summer Bay House now. Ada Nicodemou is a good actress but I think the character needs a break for a while. It's hard taking VJ seriously as a 14 year old child (he was born in 2002) but he has been SORASED and VJ looks like he is in his early 20s.

No worries! I knew Emily Symons was on maternity leave and I'd heard Duncan was coming back I'm looking forward to seeing him,

I think it's pretty much dead. The caravan park explosion was a pointlessly over the top stunt that killed a couple of decent characters (well, okay, one decent character and one that could have been decent but got screwed up) for no good reason. Maddy got given an injury that could have been a good storyline but the show’s not good enough for that so she gets quickly written out in a vaguely silly fashion. We get unlikable characters going around killing or trying to kill people without any consequence, while the one bad boy that was actually likable (mainly because of the acting) gets locked up for 13 years for something he didn’t do and no-one seems to care. I’m struggling to find any characters I like or am interested in, and am trying even harder to find any that aren’t leaving anyway. The only thing that’s really keeping my attention is the VJ and Billie stuff (VJ’s been his new age longer than he was his original age, you might as well complain about the fact Duncan should be 27) and they’ll probably screw that up too. I’m actually kind of liking the portrayal of Leah, she’s uncomfortable but practical, and of any character in the show to move into the caravan park it should be her.

Hang on, that 2 minute clip's from last year! And that was a rubbish storyline: Irene starts drinking again for no real reason, spends a few weeks being abusive towards everyone, then suddenly stops for no real reason. Yeah, really in depth exploration of alcoholism and child abuse...

actually it was this year. She started drinking after talking to Olivia and she admitted she had been raped.

H&A is the best it's been in years. The caravan park explosion and aftermath has probably been the best disaster I have ever seen in a soap. The Irene stuff is amazing and Marilyn and Roo are also involved in stories. The classic characters are at the forefront and it's amazing

Have to say the way Skye left was awful , not fitting in the character and quick. It's almost as if the actress did something wrong

It was disappointing that Skye went so quickly, I liked that character and it seemed like she was there and gone too fast.

I love Marilyn, even as far back as Home and Away's early days. She hasn't changed at all in the time I've not been watching and it's a pleasure to see her again.

I'm annoyed at what they did to Kyle in fact that has really pissed me off. Bar Alf I liked Kyle the most and thought he had potential but without Phoebe and with Ricky hooking up with Nate he was being wasted.

However I am enjoying the car crash that is Ricky and Nate's marriage, mainly because I can't believe she chose to marry the Ken doll in the first place and with any luck she decides to go off and be with Brax (the one man I believe she truly loves). It would serve Nate right after the way he treated Kat. And if it means more screen time for the adorable baby Casey then all the better.

I find Andy Barrett quite watchable these days and find it heartbreaking watching him deal with the fact he caused the death of the woman he loved.

I just can't take the show seriously anymore. Most of the cast is unlikable which doesn't help either.

I think Evie has been absolutely amazing through the whole caravan park explosion and aftermath storyline. I never took much notice of her before but her acting is absolutely top notch

Yeah. That happened last year. The season cliffhanger was Charlotte getting shot, which was the last time we saw Irene drinking. (Possibly it spilled into this year if you're going by UK broadcast, I forget when Channel 5 stopped it. It's definitely more than 2 weeks ago either way.)

Yes, Kyle's exit was awful. Skye's exit was awful and I think there really must have been some behind the scenes troubles. I'd like to think the town will be left feeling guilty for how badly they failed her but they'll probably just blame Tank. Oscar's death was one of the worst in the show's history ("No pulse, sorry"), either no-one liked the actor or no-one cared about the character. Maddy's exit wasn't much better although at least it had some emotion.

I've found Evelyn almost unlikable in the explosion aftermath. Nothing against the acting but she's made it all about her, flinging herself around going "Wah, I miss Oscar so much!" and not saying one word about the sort of person he was and how utterly undeserved his fate was. No sympathy for Andy, he's a thug and a murderer who should have been locked up years ago. And he seems to have forgotten about feeling guilty, drinking with Matt like it never happened.

Irene started drinking for no reason?????? Irene revealed she had been raped by an uncle and had a child she was forced to give up. I don't class that as no real reason!

And 45 years later, she spontaneously starts drinking because of it? Olivia mentions being raped and that somehow sets her off even though she's had two people raped while living with her including Olivia's mother and showed no sign of wanting to reach for the bottle then?
