EE and CS deaths
MusicAndTV

So, recently Paul Coker died in Eastenders and Kylie Platt I'm Coronation Street. Is it just me who thinks not only were both of these sensationalist, but also a waste of characters?

CS - Kylie was a fan favourite, and the shock at the killing off of the character from fans reminds me of when Pat was killed on EE. It feels like such a waste of a character who was slowly becoming a legend in her own right. I would have preferred them to kill off Carla Connor, because she's always going round in circles and so a death would have been more fitting.

EE - Paul had potential but was never shown. Paul never got a big storyline in his 1 year on the show - all that really happened was his relationship with Ben, and just recently the resurgence of his mother, who he never got to meet. I feel like EE made a big error by introducing a new character yet never developing them. Personally, the death of Ben Mitchell would have been better because, like the CS character Carla, he also seems to be going round in circles and the death of Ben would give scope for drama between Phil/Kathy, Phil/Ian etc.

I'm not a fan of either of them dying, but both have the potential to create brilliant storylines.

David has always been a fascinating character, but now there has been so much more added to him with the grief he now has and responsibilities to Max etc.

It's now going to be interesting to see what Ben will do next and whether Phil will take the ''second chance' he really wanted.

Kylie should have gone to jail for Callum's death, whilst Paul shouldn't have left the show - not until they actually developed his character some more. I really enjoyed his relationship with Ben and will be sad to see that over.
