Are there any families in Coronation Street that need extending or adding another member in your opinion? Do the Connors need another 5-6 members added to the bloodline? Maybe characters like Gemma, Caz, Luke/Steph need their family members introduced? Really I would like to see these characters soon:

Valerie Phelan
The divorced ex-wife of Pat Phelan. I would like to see Caroline Berry reprise the role of the old spouse of Weatherfield's casanova Phelan. Okay, a bit of backstory for the fans of Corrie. Valerie was Phelan's wife but Pat would occasionally 'wander' from his partner and sleep with other women. Val understood the greater need of womankind and allowed her husband to fulfill these lusting women. Valerie was an understanding wife at first, allowing her husband to roam the world for women as he prowled, but suddenly he was divorced in Dubai and lost his assets.

Where does Valerie fit in?
Phelan is settling into life on Coronation Street as a regular. He has admirably undertaken the role as the new patriach of the Grimshaw family, seducing Eileen and becoming a vital cog in the Builder's Yard business. Valerie could come back to find Phelan and confront Anna in the belief that Phelan has come back to finish what he started, and then eventually compete with Eileen for her old lover. Valerie could have realized in Dubai that she missed out on love with Phelan and returns to rekindle the flames of passion. Now I am sure you are all aware that Kylie Platt died recently, meaning that there is a job vacancy in the salon. A massive coincidence as lady of leisure Valerie's previous job occupation was nail technician - THE SAME AS KYLIE'S.

But then you ask yourself, where does Valerie live? Well I have a theory. The Nazir family (Sharif, Alya and the woman) being devout Muslims decide to go to Saudi Arabia to visit Mecca. Zeedan doesn't want to do this because he wants to continue working and Mr. Spock (Robert) threatens his job security, so Zeedan stays to live with Simon and Leanne as the Nazir family decide to sell up while they're in Saudi Arabia.. to Valerie Phelan!?

Bradley Phelan
The intelligent son of Pat Phelan, played by Joe Tracini (previously known as Dennis of Hollyoaks.) Bradley could have been away from his family during Pat Phelan's initial run in Coronation going to University or working abroad. Bradley is a gentle and is not so formidable as his spoilt mother or his manly father. It could be down to Bradley's lack of a backbone that Pat doesn't talk (and is ashamed of) to his son. It's these lack of dynamics in Bradley's personality that drew Phelan close to Jason Grimshaw, the burly builder of the North West.

Where does Bradley fit in?
He is not very confident, but he is confident enough. He begins work at the medical centre as a receptionist. But yeah, we just need more chance in dig into the depths of the great Phelan character

Your idea is well thought out, but unfortunately I don't want any more Phelans around, I want to see the back of Phelan #1, not more of them added!

As for families in need of extension..I think the Barlows need bulking up again. I really want to see Rosie Webster return to round out the Websters. I would also love to see Luke and Steph's parents show up. Maybe have Steph and Andy get married and give them some solid footing on the show as characters instead of being in the background. I don't know that I want to see more Connors though, I think they have already stretched that family to the limits...as it is Johnny/Kate/Aidan came out of nowhere.

Lily Price
The estranged daughter of Stella Price. Stella would return from Manhatten, New York - explaining that her friend, Dina had died. Lily would also come, and start a love triangle between Robert, Tracy and herself, luckily marrying Robert.

Where does Lily fit in?
Lily (played by EastEnders actress, Martine McCutcheon) would live with half sister, Leanne, abusive nephew Simon, and mother Stella in Victoria Court. She would claim back the job of the late Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) as a nail technician. She would become best friends with Sarah Platt.

Stella Price
The mother of Eva Price. She would live with Simon, Leanne and Lily (above) in Victoria Court. Karl Munro (her ex husband) would be released from prison, and accidently murder Clayton Hibbs (Callum Logans drug dealer) in a fire at the medical centre, hospitlising Simon and Amy Barlow. Tracy would then attempt to kill Karl, but she fails, resulting in a fatal accident, killing Pat Phelan. Stella would then marry newbie Connor Blethanly, but Connor dies alongside Lucy Cayton, in a horrific, devastating plane crash.

Where would Stella fit in
Stella (played by Michelle Collins) would work at the pub (Rovers) and soon co-own it, with Liz.

Steph and Luke have blended in well in Coronation Street and I think their family would fit in as well - parents and pehaps a brother or sister..

I think they should avoid any new characters for now.

Anyone but Steph and Luke!!! Steph just annoys me sticking her nose into people's business, swanning in and out of work whenever she pleases, disrespecting her boss, canoodling with Andy when she's supposed to be working, her whole treatment of Peter Barlow after Tina died, who she only knew for a few weeks beforehand. I think Phelans family could be introduced, I could see him with two, good looking but equally dodgy sons, his ex wife could come in from time to time. Maybe Andy Carvers real family could be introduced, maybe a mother, father and sister seeing as the family we thought he has was fake.

Last time I read an article on Martine McCutcheon she was in a wheelchair.

Agree entirely. Luke hasn't had a proper story line since he started. Steph's big moment was that ridiculous online photo story.

Both characters are just on the periphery and clearly writers are desperate to find any way to include them. Steph being the one who discovered Leanne's secret and Luke getting involved with the Caz story being recent examples.
