David is out for justice, and isn’t paying enough attention to Max and his grief Luckily Granny Gail is on hand to watch out for an upset little Bowlhead, and will probably have some words of wisdom for her bereaved son. At the hospital some fool has left a local paper lying around which Sarah finds. She is shocked to find out the details of Kylie’s murder, and realises she needs to go home immediately, as her intelligence and ability to cope in a crisis will surely help her family through all this. When Bethany arrives for a visit, Sarah is packing her bags. Wise Bethany manages to convince her mother she would only make things worse so Sarah unpacks and settles back in to life in the psychiatric ward.

Poor Leanne has morning sickness and can’t puke discreetly enough to keep it from Curly. He gets the wrong end of the stick and thinks she has a terminal illness – hardly surprising when you think how many of the significant adults in the poor mite’s life have left him for one reason or another. (Leanne wouldn’t be the first to find death preferable to having to live with him.) Si actually bursts in to the surgery while Leanne is waiting, with her new confidante Steph, to see the doctor. Curly demands to know what’s wrong with Leanne, (warning – he will be tearful), and she assures him she’s not going to die. The doctor tells a relieved Leanne everything’s fine with the pregnancy, but how will Simon take the news? She can’t hide it from him forever can she? Screwing her courage to the sticking place, Leanne tells him she is expecting a baby. He is stunned – Leanne is bound to prefer the new sprog to him. Perhaps he should start throwing things at her again. It might make him feel better…

Sally and Tim are holding a soiree, and Yasmeen, Sharif and Alya are invited and actually turn up. The atmosphere between Yas and Sal is chilly at first, but then they find they’re both passionately interested in the environment and begin to get on quite well to the surprise of their better halves. It doesn’t last long though; Yasmeen notices her (obviously unique) throw on Sally’s sofa and calls Sally a thief. Outrageously, Yasmeen then yanks the throw from the Metcalfes’ sofa and storms off home with it. Sharif and Alya are mightily embarrassed by her behaviour, and Sally is hopping mad.

Steve has mislaid his wedding ring and searches for it anxiously – Michelle is the best thing that’s ever happened to him, but he is a bit scared of her, and he knows she’ll be furious he didn’t take better care of the ring. Michelle kind of puts his mind at rest when she tells him she took it so it could be engraved, but when she hugs him he looks over her shoulder guiltily. What has he been up to?
