Emmerdale - Seven Episodes A Week Continuing Into August
We've had hour long Tuesday episodes of Emmerdale since Tuesday 28 June every week, and the latest schedules see another hour long Emmerdale on Tuesday 2 August, so I'm guessing that they've added another episode for the summer.http://www.itv.com/presscentre/progr...nformation-hub
Are you enjoying Emmerdale at the moment? Is the seven episodes a bit much? Personally, I'm enjoying most of the stuff at the moment, namely Holly & Moira stuff, Ashley's dementia & the White's stuff, but I'm finding it hard to keep up with the episodes this summer due to the hour long Tuesdays, anyone else? |

It doesn't really bother me, I just watch on catch up if I miss something - I think it's actually been really quite decent recently. As you said, the Holly & Moira Stuff, The White's and Ashley's Dementia have been really good and I would also add that Belle's has gotten more interesting as it has gone on.
The only thing I could argue that's been bad has been the David & Tracy nonsense and the upcoming

Due to the time I get home from work I very rarely watch it live, I have it set to series link and just watch it when I get chance, so it makes no difference to me how many episodes are on. I'm really enjoying it at the moment, there are some great story lines and the acting is brilliant, particularly John Bowe and John McArdle.

It's only catch up because of the episodes missed due to Euro 2016 when some nights it wasn't on at all. They're contracted to so many episodes a year and that's what they do, no more, no less.

Nope, I've got too much time on my hands and have checked, we are now (from this week) 4 episodes ahead, the ones lost in the euros have already been made up for
![]() There are no extra episodes in August, The current quota will have been made up - to the end of that month. |

Kate Oates says here http://www.soapsquawk.co.uk/coronati...des-week-easy/ that Emmerdale were producing seven episodes for the summer.

With respect, I find neither Kate Oates or more blindingly obviously misinformed, soapsquawk, credible.
ITV will ask for a certain number of episodes over the course of the year. This is slightly more than the 6 per week which is the usual schedule. So some weeks there will be more (several weeks actually when you account for weeks when there are less). Looking at the 2015 episode count the average number of episodes per week was indeed more than 6. |

I'll admit to finding it hard to catch up. My internet at home isn't brilliant so if I miss a live episode I have to go somewhere with good internet to catch up. The more DPS, the harder it gets to fit that in. I missed one this week, and honestly decided not to bother catching up!

ITV might as well rebrand itself the soap channel the rate it's going.
