I was amazed and really happy for Andy winning that award. I think he really was deeply grateful and touched by the HMs choosing him as their own personal winner. After all they've said about him they've finally seen that he's a decent bloke.

I love BB when it's real emotional, HAPPY stuff. BB at it's best.

Yes!! Someone else who thought the same as me - very touching and I'm so glad he got this award from the HMs, it's clear it means a lot to him.

Here we go....it was not about his engagement ...it was about the fact that those in there chose him that meant so much.

'those people' who he constantly criticises their intellect and says he wouldn't go near on the outside, mmm ok.

They have done the same as well ...not just Andy.

Yes he criticised their intellect but that doesn't mean he doesn't value their opinions inside the house. I like Andy because there is more to him than most.....and he is honest in his dealings with others. IMHO he has single-handedly saved this series from oblivion!

Yes he has...thank goodness he is in there.

He really has been a condescending and self-superior prig, luckily for him his DR insults have not been shown to the rest of the house. Hence the award.

This little award was given to him AFTER they had shown one of his DR rants (and of course other peoples' rants too) to the HM's wasn't it.

They showed Jayne calling it all a freak show and loved her for it, so seemed pretty forgiving.

I have no doubt that they all have made DR entries that express very clear negative feelings towards at least one of their fellow housemates at some point through the series. What they say in the DR tends to reflect how they feel at the particular time they are saying it, much like when a kid says they hate their parents because they've been refused the latest toy or gadget. It doesn't mean they hate their parents forever, just how the feel for that instance.

ETA: I believe that's the point Hughie made regarding his particular DR rant about Jason, that it's how he felt at that particular time.

I thought Andy's reaction to winning the 'most deserving housemate award' was absolutely genuine.

He's a decent, kind, funny and intelligent human being but just like the rest of us and the people we hold most dear, he's not perfect.

Yet flawed as we all are, we are loved and love in return.

It's a sad commentary on our times when we can acknowledge goodness, kindness and decency in the people we love but we fail to acknowledge even the possibility of the existence of those qualities in others and dismiss them as fake or game-players.

I wish things were different.

I thought it was really nice for Andy and really nice that the most HMs picked him.

I agree. I wish people would remember this when they watch, think and talk about every housemate (and every person) not just when it comes to their own favourites.

I agree with you - I don't ever understand 'fake' as a description for a human being (I did see a post on the Jackson AT whilst taking a look at all the ATs that was similar to this http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...9&postcount=41). All human being have emotions, moods, good and bad sides - and yes, indeed, nobody is perfect!

Andy's been to the Tony Blair school of sincerity .

I'm glad others thought so too.
I think Andy will come 2nd in the show so I'm really glad he's got this and believe, in that moment, he was completely happy in the world. It was lovely to see. It's why I like BB in the first place [not all the squabbling].

More genuinely happy moments please BB.

I liked Andy and was happy that he received the award, but in the diary room right after he turned me RIGHT OFF.
