Jason doesn't ever look like he needs a good wash, he's immaculate.

Always looks spotless, so well groomed and presents himself beautifully.

So making a comment that they look like they need a good wash makes them a bully? My God! This takes the biscuit. I think some people don't know what bullying really is. Many victims of real bullying would have issue with that.
I know it makes you laugh...I find people really pathetic who jump on the 'bully' bandwagon and use the word so easily.

They have not got a clue.

Yep; as soon as anyone makes a remark they don't like ----- "BULLY!"

Now come on Polly, play the game a bit. We all know that you shouldn't have added 'Lego hair' to that list. Whilst admittedly it was over-played eventually I think whoever came up with it first should be commended on quite an inspired comedic insult. It took effort to come up with that and it completely landed in people minds. How dare you equate it to saying "X is fat." - that's like comparing sparkling wine to champagne.

For shame!
I also think "teeth are too white/ skin too orange/ forehead doesn't move" are observations and not insults.

I've seen another 'needs a good wash' comment just this past hour. Particularly nasty. They all look a bit bedraggled, needing a good haircut, roots done etc etc toward the end.

Yes but they're joyless observations. "Lego hair" isn't, it's silly and daft and quite playful. But as I say, Lateysha thought it up and I don't like her. She looks like she needs a wash.

Some people see bullying in everything, it's ridiculous.

And to start a thread criticising other forum members, the cheek of it!

I'm sorry but Marco looked filthy. I wouldn't say that necessarily about any of the others.
He really did. His hair looked matted and filthy and his body was so covered in tats it gave the impression he was grubby as shit. His teeth always looked clean though.

OK - let's be very clear. Hughie, as a Traveller, will have heard that he's 'smelly' and 'dirty' from the minute he started mixing with the settled community at school. You can play it down as much as you want to, but there's a nasty undertone to SOME of the comments made about his needing a wash and looking like he smells of poo.

Do you have links to where fms have said that Hughie needs a wash and smells like poo as that might enable readers to better understand what your talking about and the context and manner in which it was said.

There are thousands of negative comments regarding the appearance of HMs every series.

a few from this series, mostly aimed at the women
Shouldn't that say:

"a few from this series, selectively chosen in order to appear that they were mostly aimed at the women"

Exactly. It might be many things, but it is not bullying, especially when it's something said on a forum which the person will probably never see.

I was bullied and am sick of people calling the least little thing bullying, it's ridiculous.

So it's not what forum members are saying, it's what the OP thinks forum members are really thinking, but not saying? Talk about a stretch!

Yeah it is wrong to say Sam looks like he needs a good wash. Much better to just say he looks unkempt, untidy, messy, scruffy, disordered, dishevelled, disarranged, rumpled, windblown, ungroomed, bedraggled or simply a mess

No, someone actually posted that Hughie looks like he smells of poo. I mean, seriously. I'd round on my eight year old if he said something like that. Also, it seems that Sam gets a lot of stick about not washing because he's got bad skin. It's horrible and infantile.

I don't like anyone being criticised for their physical appearance. Sadly, that has happened at times on here this year.
