I hope Negan gets KILLED in the last ep of the season by Rick with his own Vampire Bat.

Well I found that very hard to watch, but the acting was top notch from all concerned. I had thought it would be Abraham but Glenn totally shocked me. Quote:
LOL. Sounds entirely plausible to me.
Or maybe it'll be, 'Swinging that bat around all day must make you awfully thirsty Mr Negan. Would you care for a refreshing glass of home made lemonade? It's not poisoned or anything'.As the (main) two who weren't involved in this Negan encounter, they may be the ones to provide the backbone, the strength needed to formulate some kind of plan. I don't read the comics so I don't know - I'm just chucking ideas around in my head. Quote:
I got up at 7am to download the t******. And watched the episode minutes later.
The media aren't very good at NOT telling us who died. I feel sorry for those whose enjoyment of the show is spoiled by the leaking of the death. And who it was...? I couldn't imagine waiting to see the episode on UK TV and avoiding like the plague all social media, newspapers etc, till the screening. I've never really understood the concept of spoiling - why does anybody want to know before-hand, it seems to give them some sense of superiority when to me it's exactly what it says on the tin - spoilt. It's a bit like reading the last few pages of a thriller before starting the book. Quote:
Are you talking about Fear the Walking Dead which was simulcast at 2am on Monday and on again at 9pm when that was aired? Can't find anywhere saying The Walking Dead was simulcast.
![]() Quote:
You got their first with what I thought to
![]() I wonder if they filmed the what if scenarios as the bat hits each character for a split second to try and throw fans off the scent. It's simply impossible to keep anything secret in the modern era. Quote:
May be it was suddenly deemed an unnecessary line as he wasn't going to make it so they did a late cut?
Quote:
Am I the only one that didn't find it as gruesome as everyone else? Thought it was done quite well. Roll on next week.
I shall choose to believe the former

I can certainly see how Andrew Lincoln would have needed time off after nine days of maintaining that level of emotion.

He'll never win an Emmy or Golden Globe or anything, Walking Dead is a bit too low brow for that cabal I think, but Andrew Lincoln does some really good work. Best actor on the show by a mile.
I always thought it was a bit strange that he never watched himself in the show either, but I guess watching that episode and knowing it took them 9 days to film it, it certainly brings home why. |

Treat to get the ad free on demand version before the 9pm showing. Hope that continues.
Used to wait until Tuesday to watch. |

I don't see why they would consider it 'low brow' - Game of Thrones (which I believe is a fantasy series?) has won before. Hardly 'high' brow.

They've managed to do with Negan what they never really managed with the governor, truly menacing.
Did anyone notice the casual snapshots being taken of the corpses? |

Well, that's your own prejudices.
I'm partial to some fantasy myself - after all, TWD could be considered fantasy. I'm just saying how could one be considered high brow and the other low brow. Fantasy, sci-fi, they are just different genres, although some might consider it all the same or at least elements overlap; neither is better or worse than the other. My point is, if they are giving (and why shouldn't they?) Emmy's to one genre, why would they think that another was beneath an Emmy just because of the genre in which it lies, or in which they place it? When it comes to an award for acting, it's the acting that wins the award surely - not the programme in which that acting is done? |

No, that's just your incorrect assumption of what I meant.

Not surprised Abraham was the (first) one to go, too strong, dangerous and defiant a character for Negan to let live (the same would apply to Darryl but he's too popular a character to kill off yet).

I thought Abraham's bright orange springy flat-top would have easily soaked up that blow.

Did anyone else think Glenn looked like Sloth from the Goonies when his eye popped?

He is far too good a character to kill off so soon. I have to say I hated the Governor but Negan is charismatic. As JDM said on the talking dead in his mind he isn't a villain. They did murder many of his men in cold blood. You live by the sword you die by the sword. I am so glad that TWD universe is expanding and we meet more people.
![]() The Governor had nuance and had a certain amount of moral ambiguity in the beginning. He had a shot at redemption but left his demons get the better of him. Negan on the other hand is (IMO) a cartoon, moustache twirling baddie. There is no ambiguity. If the writers intended some duality they failed. There was the potential for some inner conflict within Negan, as with the Governor. Rick had behaved appallingly - as you said, he killed Negan's men in cold blood. There had to be some response, some reckoning. But the cat and mouse game Negan played with them and the uber violence and overkill mark Negan as nothing more than a one-dimensional, psychopathic sadist. Character is interesting. Smacking people's heads in with a baseball bad is pretty tiresome. |

After watching the talking dead it has left me even more in shock and emotional.
All the cast together on stage, the rain...it all brought home how close they all are as a cast |
