I think your being a bit harsh, we are all different with different levels of tolerance.....the message I made was watching it straight after, probably not the best time to comment on something, am a bit more at ease with it now, but am entitled to a viewpoint. It goes to how well the show is acted that it also had that effect, if it had two dimensional characters it wouldn't have had the impact either.

Not a bad start for that Season.
I was right with my guess who will die, but i haven´t seen it coming what happened with Glenn.
I hope that Rick won´t stuck in that "depression mode" which he had some seasons before.for a long time

For me this was the mutant child of The Red Wedding (for gut wretchingness) and The Mountain v The Viper. Have to admit, this may be the strongest episode of the series. Its wrong to say its my favourite, but it was the episode that has hit me the hardest. the show, cast and creators really need to be shown some award recognition for this. Regardless the fact that I guessed one death correctly (didn't expect the second, despite the rumors online), the cast hit it out of the park.

Not overly surprised by the victims, but definitely surprised to see two go!

Yesterday, I purposely did not go on Facebook or Twitter all day (not even once), for fear of reading a spoiler and I managed to do it effortlessly (its really not that difficult).

Watched the episode at around 7pm (had recorded the 2:30am showing) having no clue as to who would die......




.....yea, everytime I see him on The Walking Dead, I just see 'Trevor'!!!!!!

Oh Glenn... I loved that guy.
I was pleased to see him alive and well on talking dead (!) but also it bought it home how sad the whole cast were, loved seeing the photo of Glen and Rick meeting for the first time.

I am so excited for this season, think it's off to a great start and I can't wait to find out how they come back from this - they surely will, but it will take some time and no doubt more bloodshed.

I felt quite traumatised after it. I had kept away from all spoilers so had no idea what was going to happen. What they showed happening to Abraham was bad enough but Glenn, did not see that coming. I can handle blood and gore, I also watch GoT, but this episode was a bit too much for me.

JDM is a fabulous baddie, makes The Governor look like Dick Van Dyke.

I was the exact same. Stayed away from Social media and my usual US TV websites and even here. I then went and saw an unlimited screening of The Accountant (Still no social media) came back and was almost undone by the fact that Sky had switched to Fox and the Talking Dead. I was trying to quickly grab the remote before being spoiled by anything... (Made it in the nick of time)

For the last 4 years, i've always recorded all of the episodes of the show and binged them over a few days in April around the time of the season finale.

I've probably had the show spoilt once during that time, so I do agree, although saying that, I do the same with Game of Thrones and i've had that spoilt more than a few times so maybe it's show-dependent !

Oh don't - the dream sequence.
Heart breaking. I unfollowed all walking dead stuff on all social media as I just didn't want to know. I was upset about Abraham but relieved as well that it wasn't Glenn or Maggie - who I felt sure it was a choice between. So the 'eye popping' Glenn moment took me totally by surprise.
I thought it was very well done.
I seem totally desensitised to gore these days, it passed me by really that it was particularly gross!
JDM is a bloody superstar - he plays it so well...
It was both brilliant and horrific!

So someone should avoid social media for the 6 months between the end of 6 and beginning of 7 just to avoid spoilers? That's ridiculous.

I woke up at 3am (I think) on Sunday night and had fallen asleep watching Family Guy on Fox - the telly was still on and Walking Dead was on! I let out a little scream and a 'lalalala' and had to reach for the remote super fast!!

I think the violence was justified. Negan needed to completely break Rick, and to do that required something totally brutal to show him just how far he would go to take control of Alexandria and it's residents. The point of the violence wasn't simply revenge for Rick killing Negan's men, it was psychological warfare and it was effective. They all live in a brutal world where might is right, and Negan showed himself to be the mightiest, the one who would go further than anyone else to protect himself and his group and that everyone else means nothing more to him than a source of resources. To Rick's group he is the devil incarnate (or a cartoon, moustache twirling baddie if you prefer) but that's exactly what he had to be to achieve his aim. Anything else, any ambiguity would look like weakness and give a glimmer of hope to Rick. Negan couldn't allow that, That's my take on it anyway, and maybe we'll see more depth to Negan as the season progresses. TWD does good characters, I trust that they'll continue that tradition with Negan and we'll see more of his human side.

I only avoided social media from Sunday night to Monday night.

I purposely didn't Follow/Join or look for anything Walking Dead related on social media, I managed to keep away from any spoilers from end of S6 to beginning of S7.

I found out by sheer accident on Instagram.. I didn't go "looking for it'. I was looking at a photo on TWD account, months ago, and there it was as a comment below.

Sorry, I'm not going to avoid Instagram for 7 months, (especially as I really like TWD Instagram account and some of the unique off camera photos they post of the great friendships there. Plus Josh McDermitt always swoops in with funny quips.)

I didn't see any spoilers on my social media feeds until after the episode had aired, which were easily avoided for a couple of hours until I caught up. Spoilers were elsewhere, but I had to go looking for them, which I do regret, but that's my own fault.

He's been in ONE episode (okay, one & a half). You can't make a snap judgement like that just yet. Blimey people have no patience these days.

What I didn't understand is why didn't he kill Daryl instead of Glenn?

Was it in his mind that he was taking out the strongest and weakest members of the group?

There was a couple of things that made me think Abraham was toast.

Firstly he was looking forward to a happy life with Sasha (he might just as well have been wearing a red shirt)

Secondly (and this happened even before the last episode of Season 6 was broadcast) when Michael Cudlitz's came up in the opening credits it was at the same time as a still of a wooden cross marking someone's grave.

Tbh I think Noah's death was more brutal than either of these.

That's my take on things too. Everything Negan put Rick and the group through was to break them. I'm going to have to rewatch season 6, but I'm pretty sure that Rick's group may have fired the first shot against Negans group when they agreed to the Hilltop's deal of eliminating Negan. As I said, I could be wrong.So to Negan and his group, Rick is the threat.

I think we will see a bit more of Negan in his homestead, especially when it switches to Daryl's time with Negans crew

I think for me after watching TWD for 6 seasons already, it's more the fact I've accepted its a brutal world they live in so I expect it to be brutal.
