I was eating during that scene and almost spat my dinner out. Not because of it being gross but because of how awesome it was.

The cgi on Shiva was a little out but it didn't bother me. This is a tv show not a multi million pound film so I didn't expect it to look as a good as it did. Despite still looking cgi.

Who wants some yummy sausages laced with walker nutrients? Doesn't seem to be having an effect on Negan's group, but a small victory for them I guess handing over chunky walker filled piggies.

Liking Ezekiel and the Kingdom, he saw straight through Carol's I'm just a sweet old lady honest, act. As is the way whenever 'our' lot turn up somewhere that's been carrying on just fine and productive in the new world, it'll probably all go to hell soon.

The change of pace was a little hard to take this week.

Carol and Morgan are quite a turn off to be honest, and their constant back and forth introspection slows the pace down to a crawl at times.

The Kingdom is interesting, though I imagine it might work a lot better in the comics. The CGI was slightly dodgy, and I found the King just a bit too ridiculous (although I understand he is purposefully so!)

All in all, I can't wait to get back to the main group and honestly - though I feel a bit bad for saying it - the less we see of Carol and Morgan over the course of this season, the better.

That was the only real mis-step in the episode for me. Although we - the viewers - and Morgan knew she would pull her harmless old biddy act, it was so ludicrously over-acted by Carol that it would never fool someone as seemingly intelligent as Ezekiel appears to be. You could literally see Melissa McBride's personality change the second she opened her mouth when meeting him for the first time. I'm assuming she was told to play that scene that way (as opposed to simple bad acting) so that it would be plausible how Ezekiel saw through it so quickly, but at the same time, it was so un-subtle compared to how Carol played it in Alexandria, how could he not?

King Ezekiel reminded me somewhat of Ed Harris's character in Knightriders, George A Romero's rather odd "Camelot on Motorcycles" film.

It could very well be a tribute. There are other little bits and pieces of references to Romero. In the comic the helicopter that crashes and starts off the whole Governor storyline is very clearly meant to be the same helicopter we see taking off from the shopping mall at the end of Dawn of the Dead

Me neither but then I've got a relatively small TV (40") by today's standard.

I really like Carol's invisible woman act but yes, she overplayed it here. Way too obvious.

I watched it on my 55'' TV and it looked fine to me.

That's a shame. I want him back (at least for a short while) on Supernatural.”

Loved him in Supernatural, another great show! Was very disappointed when he was killed off.

Just waiting for The Good Wife S7 to arrive, can't wait to see him in that!

Also what I was wondering, is why Negan killed Glenn, when it was Daryl that punched him. Why not kill Daryl?

She is sort of coming apart at the moment though, so may have been not able to be so subtle.
Plus as Ezekial said, never bullshit a bullshitter. The people at Alexandria were hopelessly naive, whereas the Kingdom folk seem to be more aware of the world they are living in. They seem to be "managing" with the Saviours at the moment, though what happens if their output drops, I don't know. As Negan said, no point in killing everyone.

I suspect the tainted meat thing is just a way for them to feel better about what they have to do, kind of like a waiter spitting in the food of a bad customer. That customer will never know.

I'm surprised at that. Since the point is to keep the community in line, I'd have thought Negan would want the demonstration to happen in front of the entire community.

It was nice to have confirmation that Negan is exacting tribute from another community. I wonder how many he has? I'd guess 5 or 10.

I do hope it makes them sick
They know that they can't best the Saviours, so it's more like an act of defiance, bit like an obnoxious customer in a restaurant and the waiter getting revenge
That was my take on it could be wrong.

My Sky planner indicates we're up to episode 3 ( next Monday ) of 5. So expect the mid season break end(ish) November and if memory serves me right it usually starts again in February.

When darryl was on the ground and dwight wanted to kill him he said you don't kill someone like him without getting a taste first.

Glen was the punishment instead.

There are 8 episodes in total until the break, last one is 12th Dec (US).
Starts again 13th Feb.

It instills fear into you, if you know your actions can harm others.

If one of the group thought sod it, I want to die, and so decides to go hell for leather and jump Negan, knowing if he succeeds, good, if not, I don't care as I want to die anyway, then there is no point killing you.

Whereas, if you act up, so one of your friends gets the punishment, you are less likely to stand up again.

Also, kill off housewives favourite Daryl and face their wrath. The zombie apocalypse would be a walk in the park compared to that.

Noticed that too - the camera lingered on his hand as he was about to deliver another punch, and the skin was decidedly grey.

Kind of, I'd say. Yes, his hand (not his arm) did have a greyish tint, but bear in mind he had just punched a guy twice in the face, and the grey skin we saw was around the areas of the hand that would make contact if you were to punch something. The grey skin was visible because he had his hand clenched, ready to punch again. It might become relevant, but then again, it might just be a side-effect of the 'punching'.

The meeting was an interesting scene. It implied that Ezekiel has no inclination to attack the Saviours, with his admonishment of his guy for picking a fight and ordering him to stop; 'This is not what we do'. No doubt self-preservation comes into it, but it felt like there was more to it than that. Ezekiel also felt bold enough to tell the head Saviour to stop his own guy, and he did, telling his men 'They've been good to us. We've taken up more than enough of his time'. To me, this suggests a certain amount of mutual 'respect'. Obviously Eze is doing it under extreme duress, but it seems as long as he sticks to the arrangement, the Saviours largely leave them alone. I wonder if it's that's to lull the Saviours into a false sense of security (as well as avoiding bloodshed) and whether that will provide an opportunity for them to finally fight back (which surely has to happen at some point)?

LIke I said before, he is biding his time, and is obviously getting likely lads and lasses trained up.

The Saviour in charge was also relatively level headed and not interested in picking unnecessary fights, he could almost have fitted into Rick's group.
