I actually like these episodes more than the high tension brutal ones, because I like to get to know the characters better and find it more interesting.
I think we needed an episode like this one at this point, I loved it. I think Dwight could be a fascinating character. |

Yes I agree, I would like some retribution for what happened, but definitely redemption. Rick got a bit too big for his boots last season, so lets see what happens now.
Whether we are okay with it or not in series 6 Rick's group casually slipped into becoming mercenaries As individuals we like them, but they showed that when the conditions are right they too as a group are prepared to kill another group to serve their own ends. We saw them enjoy the fruits of what they thought was their victory in the last series, so one could say that as a group they got their just desserts. We know that they were prepared to just take over the nice people of Alexandria too. Although Negan is brutal you can see that his approach was what he felt was right for the survival of his group. Rick was prepared to kill Negan's group before he met Negan. It was expedient for him to do so and he agreed to on some group's say so, without that much investigation...so...you see how morally ambiguous things can get when you say that one group is right and the other wrong. Of course Negan himself is destined to face retribution for his own choices. |

Amazing how far we have come with regards to on-screen gore and violence. It's prime time viewing now on TV, but back in the 70's and 80's this sort of stuff would have been the reserve of the "video nasty" genre of movies. Probably banned.
What I mean is that we will see all sorts of violence in films and TV shows, very gruesome stuff at that. But the difference here is that we may have more empathy with the characters who died, and it may be that which makes all the difference. And that will be where the quality of drama makes the key difference and results in more effective results when this is how the story develops. Not just in the individual episode, but in all the buildup of character development over the span of entire series. |

When I was watching The Cell I kept thinking, is he only hearing that music in his mind? We didn't see a speaker, or anything to indicate he was hearing it, maybe just that it kicked in when he was isolated, symbolising the torture he was suffering through isolation? i totally understand we don't need to see every little detail on-screen for it to be true, but I wondered if anyone else thought this with both the Easy Street and the other one about crying?

It was the photo that they took just before they left after the beating in the first episode.

Worth noting that last week's episode did the lowest rating for the show in the States since November 2013.

It really brought home the hopelessness of their world as it is now, which is how it probably would be after an apocalypse. I think the show is following its path well, but guess to those who want wall to wall gore it's too slow and plodding. |

Just watched the episode......loved it but i understand people are saying they dont want to watch as it has changed too much.
Its very hard hitting at the minute....rick is broken....daryl seems broken but i feel daryl is olaying a part to keep negan happy and just biding his time. One small thing....at the end of the episode when michonne went back to the burnt out car....where did it end? For me it ended just as she seemed as though she was getting bsck on top of its roof |

What a miserable shit-pile of an episode.
Back to the crappy 1st half of crappy Season 2. Rick spent the 1st half of that Season grovelling and trying to placate a deluded old man (Hershel), despite his own logic and experience. There was a another echo of that Season, with the talk of Judith's paternity. Now he is doing the same with Negan. As a former police officer, I guess he has a need to respect authority; to walk within the tracks. But....UGH. It ain't pleasant to watch, nevermind entertaining. At least Daryl is still refusing to break. Good. The Alexandrians have 2 voluntary choices, fight or flee. If they can't or won't fight (and giving up their guns isn't going to help) then they better run. Because the Negan option is a life without dignity or honour, existing as his indentured peasants. Living or dying at his whim, waiting for what? The Seven Samurai (or just Michonne) to rescue them? Another big, fat UGH! And how are they meant to 'provide something special' for Negan 'next time, or somebody dies', without any guns to go out on the rob/scavenge with? It seems to me Negan doesn't expect them to 'succeed' and intends to kill someone anyway. I continue to watch this show for Carol and Rick, anyone else can die AFAIC. But with Rick acting the tool and Carol in hibernation, there is little reason for me to watch. UGH.... |

A feature length episode with no substance. Seriously what was the point of this episode. I expected some fightback or collateral damage but all we got was a cracked window.
The current plot is just not working for those who have been with TWD from the start. . We probably see another few similar episodes until the final showdown. |

Expected something special for it being an extended episode, it was just extra dull.

Yeah its very dull and stuck in a Negan this and Negan that, get on with the storyline and get Rick and Co back on message. Being a TWD from Series 1 Rick at the moment is completely out of character, we need action and the evidence of good overcoming evil.
The last few episodes have been dire and all we have seen so far could have easily been in one episode with TWD moving at a faster pace. |

I am not getting the negativity towards this season of TWD. I don't find it slow at all, and the introduction of Negan has introduced a badly needed new dynamic to the show. Previous seasons were slow and focussed either on Rick's descent to violent mofo, or back stories of minor characters that were less than interesting.
Negan intrigues me. He is a politician as well as a sick violent man, and it will be interesting to see if Rick can out-manoeuvre him. But that won't happen for a while. I'm more interested in the Carol sub-plot right now, King Ezekiel is also interesting - I wonder if his deal with the Saviours can last? |

I think it is pretty certain they will join Hilltop and the Kingdom to defeat Negan. I think Negan will torment Dwight with Shelley that he will become a double agent working with Rick etc. He knows everything about the Saviours. He was putting on an act. The way he told Daryl to say the words was heart felt ;he doesn't want Daryl to die.

You missed a couple of more minutes. She gets off the car and comes across all of their mattresses dumped in the road and on fire.
